Can anyone reccomend some good games that will last me a pretty long time, something to keep me occupied untill the next wave of good games come out in the spring with Mass Effect etc.

I have or had and dont want:

Gears of War
CoD3(Sold)
Saints row
Oblivion(sold)
GRAW(sold)
PGR
SCDA (sold)

I was looking at Dead Rising but im not sure.

thanks

Dead Rising definitely isn't a long term thing.

Try Burnout if you like racing games. Got a lot of depth to it, and is great fun. :)

Online barely has any lag at all. Connection to lobbies and games is incredibly quick as well. Takes less than 10 seconds from selecting "Xbox Live" on the main menu before you're in a lobby with other players.

You'll have trouble getting more than 4 people in a race, most of the time, though, which is the biggest problem. For some reason, despite the fact it's meant to be 6-man races, it never usually lets more than 4 in a room. Unless they've fixed this.

You carn't go wrong with Dead Rising...though it is hard at first once the penny drops it's a classic.

I have Burnout Revenge and although i dont play it as often i like it's a great game with a lot of playability. 6 on 6 is no problem across live and no lag!

Lost Planet is due this week so it might be worth checking that. But i would have to recommend RB6 Vegas...good offline great on

CHROMEHOUNDS
Perfect Dark Zero

these all will keep your attention for a long time online

If you love playing online then Chromehounds is propably the best bet BUT you really need to be part of a clan or "squad" otherwise... not.. as fun. Singleplayer is a joke and the neroimus war is off limits to people not in clans and the war is the reason you play really. Its hard to explain but yeah.. you need a clan :)
Theres an online clan finding and making service so its not that difficult to get in one I guess

Singleplayer longetivity: I wanna say oblivion but given you've played it I'll say Viva Pinata
No seriously, very long life and thoroughly enjoyable :)

daed rising for online play? i didnt know it had that when i rented it!

For games that would take the longest ot get 1000 pts, get BF2 or Burnout, ive played em loads and only have less than 200 pts on each

PDZ would take longest for points. ;]
I think he meant Battlefield for online play aswell, as Dead Rising doesn't have it.

Having played the first couple of missions and a fair chuck of today online with Lost Planet i can say that this game is very good on both accounts.

Worth a check!

i was thinking about going for something different, maybe viva pinata, or is it to childish/easy?

Viva Pinata is OK. I bought it for my little girl and she loves it. I find it a little boring and repetative. £40 is a lot to pay for this game.

If you fancy something a little different, try Kameo. I bought this because I found it cheap in a second hand shop. I expected a game that i may play for a few hours and get bored because I like fast action and tactical games.

I was addicted straight away. I have just completed it in 13 hours. Once completed you can go back and find all the secrets and get the achievements that were missed.

I have seen this game go for less than a tenner on ebay, so bag a bargain and complete it then get your money back on ebay.

Gonna trade in Fight Night and Deadrising for Crackdown and Snooker 07 next month(Y)

yeah it has a sort of child-like theme to it, but its a very in depth game i thought with all the ways to enhance your plants and pinatas to maximise their value. its not very easy but once uget the hang of it, its very easy. dont get put off wen alll of them sours visit though, jus do what u gtta do to e rid of em and it gets a LOT BETTER!
