GOW Update

Recently GOW has undercome an update but so far the update seems to make the game worse a i have been unable to get into some of my friends matches and when you search for a custom match before you could just press the x button and the map and number of players ould come up and then the name of the host would appear but now you cant do that and the hosts name is hidden being shown as just HOST. This in my eyes has made the game not as appeal as much as before because you could get a quick match easily and you could tell who the host was so if you didnt like them you wouldnt enter the match and if you liked them then you could enter that one.
Do any of you lot feel the same?

Disagree with you....the ability to bypass the full refresh left people who didn't know to do it trouble in finding matches...as they'd be taken up by the time their refresh was done.

The ability to see all the host name removed will also benefit the game...it isn't fun playing a clan of 4 when you're with randoms who don't speak and then quit after 1 round. If you want to play with mates go Player matches that's what they're there for.

Update is a good one IMO.

I have yet to be online after the update but I tired a quick chapter on SIngle Player and it asked me to select a device which was unusual.

Erm after the update, cant even get into any Games, when i quick match search for games, it comes with like 2, when i go on custom, Theirs just about 6-7 and when try joining, it gets stuck on the Loading screen and i have to use the xbox guide to go back to dash...

I just got GoW today and before I even played the game it was updated twice. I am getting my gold account tomorrow I think so I havent played online yet but single player and co-op with my bro work like a dream.

Because of the update if your NAT settings are strict then you cant host anymore, the xbox site should tell you how to change your setings to open if they are on strict

the maps are due today, and i think the update is a good one. The grenade tag distance is definately shorter, but the host thing can be worked around if you wanna play ranked matches with friends, its just harder.
Also the spy cams on ranked are gone, so those mutes (who were probably in chat) cant let each other know where the other people are

Yep but i've followed guides, fleebois tried and a friend, so im switching isps and getting a new router, annoying though but i can still join games!

downloading the new maps now, just watched the teaser video and they look great. The theme is cool too.

Now back to see if they're done. Ravens down is a fast paced map and museum (cliffy called it that but i think its 'old bones') is more of a flanking map set in a museum

Mates downloaded the maps and they look really good... and the update was good granted it was fun playing ranked with 1 or 2 of your mates, but when on your own you always ended up with the retards with no mics....:D

The new Gear of War maps are good especially old bones, Raven Down is ok to small tho.The update seems to not have fixed the 5 second thing when you first start a game, when i went to play a ranked execution match it went 5,4,5,4 etc and then my 360 froze, i had no problems with Gears of War before the patch. Oh and in the games players seem to get the error message saying low connection when it was fine.

yeah, the connection message comes up when someone else quits (similar to halo2), just dont press B!

Ive noticed the connection thing aswell a few times. As for the new maps, at first I wasnt too sure about them and then after playing quite a few times on them yesterday now I quite like them.

yeah I got the low connection error twice last night and have never got it before :s

not the outcome I was expecting from the patch...
