GTA IV (Your Thoughts)

Hey, i'm new and this is my first thread. I just wanted to hear people's opinions on what they think GTA IV will be like. I'm talking stuff like storyline, setting, time and year, you know.

Hmm Well I can't wait to see what Rockstar will come up with this time; It'll be interesting how Rockstar handles the limited amount of space on the DVD as opposed to Blue-Ray, since multiple disc just don't work for this type of game.

It will be fine on dvd. Hopefully they will make it better than saints row where after you finished the story you just didnt see the point in playing. They almost certainly will.

i think that too, i hope rockstar put animals in IV and also the graphics improve and are rated high for and xbxo 360 game

I have big hopes for GTA IV, I wasn't to impressed with the gangsta stuff from San Andreas. I think it will be set in the 00's years wise. VC was 80's, Andreas was 90's so I figure that brringing the game in to the new millenium would be a natural progression.
As for the rest I am not to fussed but I am looking forward to it.

I have loved all previous GTA's. And REALLY enjoyed Saints Row aswell.

Just hope GTA: IV can better them all. It will take some doing though.

I reckon it'll be set sometime in this millenium. Any earlier than the 90's and you may aswell just buy The Godfather.

I liked all the GTA's but loved GTA:SA most I think, the story/dialogue/characters etc was all just so well done. I'm hoping the new GTA will be in the present or in the future (like GTA3 was but further along). I can't think of what else I'd like in the new one given that they're working on a new engine (which was my main want) so I guess I'll just wait to see what they come up with :)

I hope they take GTA SA and make the graphics better and change the gameplay slightly, I would LOVE to see GTA set in Asia and I would also love a huge map and more urban areas.

I hope they don't do the dual guns again because that was crap, I would like a levelling system were you could unlock new guns, clothes or gun upgrades etc along with cribs and homies.

Hopefully they won't change the game too much because then it might end up being rubbish, infact if they made the gameplay Warriors/Manhunt style it would be superb.

I heard a wile back a rumor that the first next gen GTA would be based in london. probably not true due to the fact rockstar keep all the info so tight on their games, but hopefully it will be true :)

ur right compton g, america has the most video game players, more than england(uk). But when i sed it wuld be popular, i ment with the uk, sorry if i had not made it clear, but i think if it were set in the uk than obviously it wuld sell more in the uk than gta san andreas did. Seriously though, i hope it is set in two or three countries, from america in chapter one, then england, then italy, etc. That would be awsome.....

I hope they copy stuff from Scarface, like the aiming system which is the best I have seen on any game and the upgrades you can get, oh and hopefully it has a real look to it because the cartoonish look is getting old

i would like a proper fist combat control system like The Warriors (which was a bloody great game!) and i also hear that they will use the same graphics engine as Table Tennis (they were very pretty graphics!) and erm thats it! GTA has always been good, gettinggreat reviews with every installment so i dnt see why this could be any different.

Yeah, have to admit that cartoonish look is getting old, and Saints Row have tarnished that look forever, as has Just Cause.

So a more up to date 'real' look to the graphics would not go amiss.

Set In London Please with a more faithful representation of London than 'The Getaway' gave it.

Besides although there are bigger and 'better' gangs in America, there are more worldly recognisable buildings and places in the UK than America..arguably..or as many anway...

Hopefully EA will leave the content of the game so that it matches with its predecessors in all aspects

from graphics I think that they are really gonna vamp it up and take it to a whole new level with the graphics
and customisable weapons would be good (Dual wield, silencers, laser sight y'know Hitman Style) and more general options, why not get a crap job at the start (Fable2) or maybe add more detail into the crime aspect money dont just appear you gotta go earn it, like scarface had drug runner mission /I think\ add all the options Saints Row had, but expand it so wide it makes Saint Row look like the first GTA ever!

and I love the Riots so you should be able to start them, after you do the riot missions or whatever, so cool!

on GTA SA, you started with nothing, and had to earn money with missions, burglary, muggins, killing pimps etc.. Until you realise how to win a lot on the horse racing gambler, then it comes rolling in.

Anyway, i hope for more of the same tbh. All the GTA games from the the first, through london, GTA2, GTA3, VC and SA have had me engrossed, playing them to the death. I got 100% on vice city and SA, and i still dont know why, i just loved playing it.
Im hoping for more close combat options (than 1 button pressing), i want the explosive remote control cars back (not seen them since GTA3), and i would live some 'online co-op on the main mode' action, but thats probably asking a lot.

how about choosing your side the law or what ever gang you want and playing the rest of the game out either pissing the other gangs off or the law off, mabey you could become a copper

i would love a free roaming online world, much like TDU and u could get maybe about 16 players just causing carnage! god that would shut every game out!

I hope Custom Player creation, Gang Creation, Gang Tag Creation etc etc.
A bit of online 10-16 player gang wars and missions. Big game, nice and big please. Good GFX, polluted city. Modern Life.

Well im sure this GTA wont look bad it will look much better than Table Tennis and that game looked great, Supposidly there using the RAGE engine, Now am not big on engines but the names sounds good and Table tennis looked amazing so this shall look better if it doesnt u get a fiver from me Spend it as you please =)

I'm sure that GTA will live up to the hype. It will no doubt sell by the bucketload and be extremely popular as always. How controversial this one will be remains to be seen with details about it scarce at the moment.

i bet they will release aLOT of news and screenshots in a few months before release andeveryone will go CRAZY excited, i bet theyll also get really creative with achievements

If they take bits and bobs from SA, SR and Scarface this game will be the best, period. And knowing Rockstar they will have 49 achievements that will be a good challenge to get.

I don't think they will release much news though, I can't remember them doing this all the way back to GTA3, they like to surprise everyone with a game rather than telling them every minute detail whilst uploading a few dozen videos.

you'll have to 100% the game to get the full 1000, just like the 100% on SA and VC, it takes ages. (100 taxis missions on VC was a bit much)
