Hey guys,

As the title says, I'd like you to recommend me a driving game - BUT, theres some 'Shoitaan specific' things that I'd like you to consider when giving your recommendation.

- I've pretty much never really played Driving games that much. I used to hate em cause I couldn't turn corners for damn but I'm getting the feeling I'm missing out on some solid gameplay so I'm willing to *gasp* learn. So yes.. me = racing game n00b

- I really want a game with car customization. The only 2 racing games I ever played were Sega GT 2002 (I think thats what it was called) on the XBOX cause I got it free and Need for Speed Underground because the visuals were stunning as were the customization options. Sega GT allowed some level of customization though upgrade parts.. but in reality you didn't really choose between items you chose got a better part so it was a no brainer to upgrade. I can't remember the upgrade stuff of NFSU well but I think it was about the same. What I remember and love was the appearance customization. I really liked that and I think I definetely want that in the game.

- One of the most important reasons why I wanna try out a racing game is that its usually showing off a lot of eye candy. I saw the video review for PGR3 and was amazed at the attention to detail on the dashboard and windsreen, side mirrors etc etc. I also want one of the the best looking racing games available on the 360

So.. yeah... I thought NFS: Carbon would be right for all these given its the latest one but from what I can tell its not being reviewed that well. Plus given its all night time, you can't really appreciate the graphics to a great extent (or maybe you can? /shrug).
I thought NFS:Most Wanted, but I dunno if the visuals are that great plus dunno too much about the gameplay.
PG3 - I've been playing the demo for this. Visuals are pretty good although I expected better (but maybe I just set my expectations too high :(). But I have no idea if it has customization. I don't think it does but I dunno for certain.
The only other racing game that I know anything about is TDU and the concept of that sounds really cool but that was another game that wasn't very well recieved. I hear some parts of it are really crap.

So yeah.. is there a racing game that you'd recommend to me based on all this stuff? Forza Motorsport looks pretty good but I don't think it'll be out for ages... maybe I should wait for that regardless? Well anyways, I've rambled enough, thx for reading and your comments ;)

for graphics id go for PGR3, but the most fun is Burnout Revenge.

I havent played TDU except the demo and i didnt think much of it. I dont like the need for speed games at all, so i wouldnt recommend them either

Neither PGR3 nor Burnout have the customization you're looking for, but they're still probably the best ones on the market.

Yup, PGR3 and Burnout are lacking in customisation, but they're far better actual games than the other two. PGR3 probably more realistic and better online, but Burnout the most fun overall.

Test Drive unlimited doesn't have much customisation but is very fun and has a more arcadey feel which makes car handling alot easier for non racing pros like me :).

If you want TDU you can buy mine!

PGR3 was great imo, but I just didn't like the kudos nonsense, I want a racing game not skidding around corners to build up kudos for the next rank, pointless and boring.

Other way around im afraid. TDU is a realistic game. Handling is more a kin to a car than PGR3. I take it you cannot drive as the cars in PGR do not handle like a car (and ive driven some cars that feature on PGR3 and TDU).

Granted, you are never going to get the complete feel of behind the wheel in a videogame. Yes you get no customisation in TDU or PGR3, but to say TDU is arcadey isnt correct. PGR3 has a more arcade feeling in my eyes. But hey JGC your opinion is your's and mine is mine.

Right my choice would be, TDU, PGR3, BR......then try the Need for Speed's.

My first racing game was Project Gotham 3.

Very disapointed, and i feel pg2 was a much better game,
Then i got most wanted, which is a great game.
Then went onto burnout revenge, which while a very good game, It's one i'd completed on xbox and there wasn't enough differance to warrent keeping it.

i tried import tuner (Sh!!!!!!t))) and took that back 1 hour later.

I then got Test drive unlimited and Nfs Carbon......
Which are th etwo i'm still playing now...

Test drive is a more relaxed game, great online, but not alot of online options.
carbon has mor eonline options, mor ecustomisation, but isnt quite the greatest.

Personally, i'd pick up most wanted cheap (slightly bette rthan crbon i think)
then grab test drive aswell.

Project gotham 3, was and is greatly overated,

I got MW for £18 on play.com and I am in the process of getting Forza 1 for the xbox, PGR3 wasn't that bad but the kudos ruined it for me and I can't wait for a god damn rally or formula 1 game!
