I've been wondering since I first watched some HD content on GameTrailers and was stunned. If I could get one of these for $200, use it on my PC now, then later on my 360 once I get an HD TV, I would be very happy..
So has anyone with one tried it? I've heard reports on the net of it, but I'd rather a Monster confirm it.

Haven't tried it personally, but I trust the screen shots I've seen of it working on a PC.

Ah, so there are screenshots?
Haven't seen those..
My only worry is that they'll patch it in the future then I'll be screwed - this laptop is the only HD thing I own.

But by the time you hook it up to your Xbox, you'll have the HDTV anyways, right..?

Huh?
I would hook it up to my XBOX when I get an HD TV sometime in the future, but I don't have any plans to yet..

It is recognised in XP but there is currently no software that will allow you to play the disks as movies.

Ah - so basically no reason to get one for PC use yet?

Nope unless some enterprising software engineer can make it work. I dont see MS releasing the software any time soon.

Isn't it just that any player than can do HD-DVDs on a PC will be able to use the 360's? I think it's just a matter of waiting for more HD-DVDs to appear in retail PCs and being able to download something.

From what I know there is currently no software that plays back HD DVD movies on a PC... yet. You could always hook up your Xbox 360 to a PC monitor using the VGA cable.

Heads up everyone, there is now software that will let you playback HD-DVD movies on your PC with the HD-DVD Drive:

So for a total of $300, you can get into the HD goodness.
