Then go to www.gameplay.co.uk .....they're getting Cores in in the next 2-3 days but you need to order quickly!!
I've just ordered one, I'm gonna cancel the Premiums I have on order as soon as they confirm the Core is in the post and only then...just in case it all goes wrong.
Finger crossed I'll have a 360 for my Birthday and Xmas!
:geek:
BTW: Don't flame me if you do order but then miss out...I'm just trying to help!

Okay well that has interested me. However I have one question, is it possible to get a core system and buy things like a hardrive and everything which the premium has that the core doesn't and make your core just as good as the premium?
Yes you can buy everything else you want. It will work out at more money though. In the Premium pack you get a limited edition remote control.

Ah cool. I would have done that but they have gone out of stock already and this thread was created just under a hour ago. :(

I'm pretty sure that they are done with the remote now. If not, then they are almost done. (?)

Yeah...they're now all sold....but anyone still wanting one should keep an eye on Gameplay as they seem like they'll get Cores on a regular basis.

GAME has a ton of them in stock - http://shop.game.net/ViewProduct.aspx?cat=11276&mid=327868 . I'm tempted to buy that bundle deal but I have another question. It's not possible to get content downloads on the Core system is it? Can that be fixed?

If you want to get big content downloads, then you will want the harddrive.

Well that just sucks. I'm going to leave it, I want Premium!!!

I think you got the right idea there Jason. The core just doesn't appeal to me at all. i suppose we will have to wait till the places get stock of premium consoles

You can buy the accessories to basically give you the premium pack....though you pay a little more it's better than waiting a few months for a premium.

Ditto.
I'll be goddamn furious if I don't have one before Christmas, though.
Microsoft and Comet will be added to the "you suck" list.

Can you not get a 20gb harddrive for the Core though?
If you can I may think of getting one.
Also, what other stuff would you need to get it to be the same as Premium?

Premium has the 20gb HD, Wireless controller, Component AV cable and Live headset...I think that's it (I've heard some had a remote but not sure).....all of which you can purchase seperately (MS orignals or cheaper Joytech ones) which is what I'm now gonna do.
Virtually all pre-orders that remain (a hell of a lot) are for Premiums so it certainly does look like Jan/Feb at least to get hold of a Premium.

After reading that post I was just about to go get my dad to go buy it for me. I click the link posted earlier and find out that all of the 40+ that GAME had it stock had disappeared, thus meaning had been bought and leaving none left for me. Damn. :(

So you changed your mind once again, so you would buy a core... Well you may see this as a Noob question but can you connect Wireless controller to the Core System? and all the other stuff like stream media to it.
Core and Premium consoles are exactly the same. The premium just comes with more stuff like the HDD. If you can do something on a premium 360, you can do it on a core (so long as you've got all the correct extras to do it)
As far as I know, the HDD's for the 360 should be about £69.99. It would be cheaper to just buy a PC based one and buy the ATA>USB cable.
Premium kit came with the HDD and the Live stuff. Nothing different on the inside and on the outside its only the DVD tray that is different.
Wireless works fine on Core and Full systems. I have tested on a Core with a 64mb memory card and you can access Live and even download music and pictures. Just not very many of them. To make use of the Marketplace, the HDD is a must have item. The NFS:MW demo clocked in at slightly under 1Gb. So going by that and the fact the Marketplace is one of MS's big plans for the future, a HDD would be a good buy.

Thanks for your information. :)
Oh and Raide, your wisdom of the technical issues of the 360 is needed here at 360Monster. Make sure you stay around and get posting!

Thank you for that comment. Making me blush now *laughs* I tend to deal with all this kind of stuff all the time at work, so I have no problems letting people know what is going on. I am new to 360 but I love finding out what is going on because I know someone will ask me something and I pride myself in being honest at work and I hate giving up when people have problems.

Is it easy to add a a 20gb Hard Drive (if I bought one), to the Core machine?
The Official MS HDD connects fairly easily to the Core system. You need to give it a bit of a push so the connectors all sit correctly but once that is done, it works fine. Once the HDD is taken on and off a few times, it loosens a bit and becomes easier to remove and refit.

I will have the cash for my 360 on January 3rd, would it be best to order online now to get in the que, or just keep the cash and try and get one on the high street in January?
Order it from where though?
I can't find any where.

You can order 360's on websites but you wont get them delivered for a while, I've ordered a Premium from Play.com but I'm expecting a good long wait for it to arrive.
And sorry about Argos guys, I didn't know. :(

My mate has a core console and the hardest thing for him to find is a hard drive. You can find the wireless/wired controllers, headsets and remotes available quite freely if you look in the right games stores. The hard drive is the elusive one.
