I remember when I was little(In the 90's) And I loved watching Cartoons, saturday's were my favorite day of the week because show's like Rocko's Modern Life and Aaahh Real Monsters! were on. And then after school I would gear up and watch Pokemon, Digimon, Doug, Catdog and Freaky Stories at 7. Now adays I flip through the channels and all I see are lame attempts at cartoon and a bunch of Japanese Anime show's that are HORRIBLE. I find it sad that all the stations (Except for Nickeloden) Have taking all those great shows off the air. Anyways here are some of my fav shows, and post yours!

Rocko's Modern Life
Catdog
Freaky Stories
Goosebumps
Are you afraid of the dark?
Doug
Angry Beavers
Felix the Cat

I'm actully downloading the Rocko's Modern Life Season's and Angry Beavers. If you want some info just PM me ;)

I had a sad childhood. For some reason I used to go out and "play". That and I found children's cartoons... childish. i wish I didn't now because people talk about cartoons and I know nothing. I watched ren and stimpy, and... errr... aw man

Pole Position, MASK, Turtles, Thundercats, Transformers, Knightmare are what i grew up watching, oh and fun house with the sexy twins, melanie and martina. Wonder what they're doing now?

I got sexually harassed as a Child but I looked forward to watching all the Cartoons, as it was a treat for me if I didn't tell anyone.

So I love the Classics myself...As it reminds of those days as a Boy!

In the 90's I was in elementary school and Pokemon and Digimon were HUGE. You were probily in High School in 97',98',99' and those shows obviously were not cool to kids 16,17 and 18.

Blaze Lord
07/Dec/06, 11:34 PM
Which is exactly my point. You should find the new children's shows lame, just as when you were a kid, those shows were lame to anyone older than you. It isn't a sign of today's shows being objectively worse.

^ The fact is they are. No one want's to watch all that Anime Crap. Those shows are embarrasing to TV.

Blaze Lord

Broseph, Pokemon and Digimon are Anime crap. If "no one", and by that I assume you mean no kids, wanted to watch it, it wouldn't be on, and there wouldn't by Yu Gi Oh backpacks.

Naruto and Dragon Ball Z are awesome and are just a couple of great anime shows. Powerpuff Girls cartoon is also a excellent cartoon. If you don't like it chances are you made that decision before watching it because it contained the word "girl".

Knightmare now that was the snizzle :D
83 same age as me I guess hence the decent choice of TV. ;)

PS I think if you look at the twins now you'll not think they were quite so special, unlike cheryl baker off record breakers. phwoar :p

it was just the thought of twins, mmmmm. those go karts were soo slow though, i could have run round faster!

Wacky races was cool, as was stop the pigeon. i used to love the 10-15 breaks of looney tunes they used to have on ITV, they were a great idea

E4 a while back showed a lot of films by studio Gibli(spl?) and it started to get me right into it. Then I watched Advent Children which is CGI... I hope a HD version comes out.
I just wish we could get some decent english stuff. Sure there are dubs but they cut out swearing and are not translated as well as they could be. So I'm stuck with reading subs.

I have only watched Session 1 of DBZ blaze but I enjoyed it. I would of prefered it it was just one film and the pointless stuff cut out because not much happens in 1 episode.

Fleebs told me to watch Naruto though so blame him :p

Danger Mouse was sweet. But yeah, I'm in your same boat, RBF. Those 2 are pretty much it for me (plus Ghost's sequel.) Ghost in the Shell also has a regular series that you should check out (that's the Stand Alone Complex I mentioned before.)

The middle seasons have been on the whole been brilliant, though. Loads of great quotes from generally amazing episodes.

Raisedbyflames

yeah anything post 1998 aint the simpsons possibly earlyer, but yeah their still ok but not as good as they once were, i think its when they started just shoving guest stars in that it lost its way, but ive got high hopes for the movie hoping for the magic of the old episodes.

so many good charictors everyone has a favorite but mine has to be either Ralph or police cheif wigan but my opinion changes every other day.

AfroJoe
08/Dec/06, 12:24 AM
You ain't missing much. They really should have stopped it when things started to decline, but instead they've done another 3 or 4 seasons, with it getting worse each time around.

We still get Simpsons overkill on Sky One, though (about 4 episodes every day), so you'll usually have a few of the classics every week.

Yeah, Chief Wiggum for me. Amazing.

Dr. Hibbert is under-rated, though. No-one ever brings him up in "good character" discussions, but he's had some quality quotes over the years.

The funniest moment that I can remember, was when Chief Wiggum walks into Moe's when the Mafia are kicking some guy to death. He looks really scared and says, "I'll leave you boys to it..." before running out again.

Has to be seen to understand why it's really that good. I couldn't stop laughing.

Don't have a clue what episode it was in either. :D

you were right is watch CATCH the pigeon.

I love Chief Wiggum too. For instance.

Radio: "There's a fight going on at the aquarium!"
Wiggum: "They still do those frozen bananas?"
Lou: "Yeah"
Wiggum: "Lets roll"

there's so many great character's, thats why its such a great show, i think Apu is hilarious aswell, and Mayor Quimby, Moe (when he's carrying a killer whale across the park, lmao), and Nick Riveira, there's too many to name. Im a huge fan of the simpsons, i just may have seen them all now, all i ever see is repeats on sky and channel4

i love his "worst episode ever" t-shirts and when stan lee wouldnt leave his shop.

There's also Reigneer (spelt wrong) Wolfcastle, pure genius writing in all his bits. Mr.Burns and Smithers is also hilarious, and some of MR Burns' tys like the bat monkeys or the big boot in the theatre at his house, classic

AfroJoe

Some Wiggum quotes:
"Uh, no, you got the wrong number. This is 9-1... 2."

"This is Papa Bear. Put out an APB for a male suspect, driving a... car of some sort, heading in the direction of, uh, you know, that place that sells chili. Suspect is hatless. Repeat, hatless."

"Well let me ask you this: shut up."

Thank you, http://www.thesimpsonsquotes.com- I did use quotes that I'd seen before, though. :D

And yeah, Keeper, you're a crazy mofo, not liking the greatest cartoon ever created. :D I ain't even joking. Simpsons in its prime is miles ahead of Futurama, Family Guy or any of that stuff.

I'd always liked the Batman series, and to this day, 'The Joker', voiced by Mark Hamill, still makes me crack a smile: just so sadistically funny.

Simpsons in its prime is miles ahead of Futurama, Family Guy or any of that stuff.
Definitely, it, 'The Simpsons' in its prime, is miles ahead of any new comedies.

"You're going to Juve" - Homer
"But I've already been" - Jimbo
"Good. cause I need directions" - Homer

And, the venerable Johnny Tight-Lips

"Where did they shoot you Johnny" - Mafia guy
"I ain't say nothing" - Johnny
What do I tell the doctor" - Mafia guy
"Tell him to go suck a lemon" - Johnny

Ironically these quotes are from the seasons that I could are generally rubbish; rubbish in comparison to the greats of the first 7, 8, or 9 seasons.

I have to give a nod to Zach Brannigan to, a character in Futurama.

"You win again gravity!"

He's the only thing good to come out of that show. Nah, scratch that, the Southern-Fried Chicken Lawyer was good. Funniest line from that show was a line parodying Alice in Wonderland, though:

"Change places!"

I forgot to mention Ren & Stimpy. That show was GREAT.
