ADSL playing up?

Hiya peeps,

I am with Demon Internet and recently had a free upgrade to 8mb. It has been flying along for the last week or so and has suddenly dropped to less than 56k standard. I contacted them and they said it was something to do with the line testing to make sure I can support the 8mb. Has anyone else had this shortly after upgrading? Anyone had this with Demon Internet? Maybe I should just sit tight but it makes using the net/360 pointless.

Is the upgrade process complete? if it is get on the phone to them your speed should be ok by now. The usual period for an upgrade is around 10 days.

I've recently upgraded to 8mb with BT and had all sorts of problems but they are sorted out now finally. What they did to me was cap my line so I couldn't get more than 0.5 mb. They resynced my line and now it works perfectly. I'd ask them when you are on the phone whether they have capped your line like mine was. If not tell them that all was fine before the upgrade and its only since this you have been having problems. Don't let them fob you off either like BT tried to do to me so many times but failed miserably.

Ahh cheers. I am on the Demon now and checking what is going on. Seeing if they have capped my line. 25th Nov was the date they said it was active. 10 days is past todays date. 56k really sucks :P

10 days is the normal period for line training. After that you really should take it up with your ISP.
