Xbox Live Gold - Extending Subscription

I am thinking of purchasing another 12 months Live Subscription, but my subs arent up till February.

If I buy one now and enter the code will it add to my existing subs and give me 12 months come February or 12 months from the date you enter the code?

Yeah it does add it on(Y) (Y) Ive done it myself

it adds on to from the date your orginal subscri[tion ends ive done this my self as well

Isn't there two ways to go about it, though? I vaguely remember you need to 'renew' instead of 'add'?

well you can goo ina shop and buy the card with the code on or just doo it on the 360 via credit/debit card

I didn't notice any choices on how you apply a new sub and I'm sub'd until 2009.
