Someone on Ubi's forums seems to think it has something to do with freezes due to disc skipping. http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/2771048463/m/5891091594
It also seems to have ruined things for some people.
But I can't find any official word anywhere.

Seen people on other forums mention it...but no-one knows what it was for!

I've had quite a few problems with it. Skipping, crashing, etc. Still a great game.

This might be what has screwed my 360, I downloaded the patch before playing the game, then the game repeatedly froze, with "Disc is unreadable" errors and random crashes. Then it asked me to put the game in a 360 consoles, after turning the console off, and back on it doesn't read any game at all.
I've noticed alot of people are having very similar problems, 3 rings of death, unreadable discs etc.
What on earth that patch did I don't know, perhaps it was nothing to do with it but I'm pretty positive that SC:DA did fry my 360.

Yeah it's actually happened to me as well and there's alot of glitches
unfortunately it's quite an old engine,it's got to be at least five year's old
so next year ubisoft said there will be a new engine.
But the update is not perhap's very conpatible with the game.

Use the cache clear to get rid of the patch (and all others).
Then just refuse to update when it asks again...obviously that'll mean no Multi-player until the issue is fixed but that's better than a fudged 360.

What is it with UbiSoft and games crashing?
GRAW has and always has had a big problem with it, and now Splinter Cell too?
They'd better have it sorted for R6. (:/)

i thought it was the update causing problems i've updated but not played it since so gonna just do what MJ said and clear the cache
(do you just hold A down during bootup to do that?)

The update causing problems is another UbiSoft thing, then, seeing as fair few people are now having problems after the GRAW update when they never had it before.
Such a shame as well, because Ubi make such brilliant games most of the time. Way to ruin it by having crappy servers and bugs which make games crash. :(

its a common thing in 360 games
loook at all the multiplayer games that just dont work at all

I know, but they don't just crash like UbiSoft's games.
Battlefield is offline for maintenance a lot and there are problems connecting to games of Burnout, but those two, PDZ, PGR3 and COD2 are examples of games which actually work once you get in a game.

Ye i know what u mean every UbiSoft game i have had on the 360 has froze, Splinter Cell froze once in single player on friday when i got it but it has been fine upto now, but if this game all of a sudden starts freezing like GRAW did in multiplayer i won't buy another UbiSoft game no matter how good it is.
