Rainbow Six Demo coming either 23rd or 24th

Apprently this is the case, there are many people on xbox.com forums saying they have the demo with the latest oxm magazine in the US and apprently its the greatest game they've all ever palyed lol. Anyway about 3 or 4 different people have said the demo is out on the marketplace on either the 23rd or 24th of this month (tommorow or tuesday.)

the first demo is single player, but dont worry its apprently VERY good, a multiplayer demo is going to be released just before launch.

Started the DL with my Jap account...got to 5% and thought I'd check the Euro MP (dunno why)...stopped the DL...wasn't on the Euro MP...signed back in to the Jap account...demo no longer there!

Ooh, I've got it too. That was quicker than I expected. Less than half an hour.

Oh my, this game is going to be fecking awesome.

Some of the commands are just great. You can tell you squad to target guys and shoot once you do, to take out multiple opponents at once. You can tell them where to cover and stuff as well so that you can make an assualt. Covering itself is brilliant as well, and when shooting, your gun automatically starts becoming inaccurate the longer you're firing for.

Basically, it's very, very, very good.


The one problem I have is that the buttons are very different to GRAW, which I find surprising, considering they're pretty much the same game really. Different buttons for the same things. :s


Oh, and one more thing. Nightvision is actually useful! Very useful, in fact. :cool:

It doesn't happen in GRAW at all. Trust me, I think I've played the game enough to know that.

As for COD, well, I've never played it, so this IS a totally new thing to me.

Ek it sort of happens in GRAW. Your marker for where you aim has 4 dots around it. When you fire then they dots move away from the marker and if you shoot when they are moved away then a bullet could land anywhere in the square wtf am I talking about who cares.

just played the demo. Humm. Gfx are nice but they dont look like the HD videos I have seen of it.

Controls are a bit strange. That might be because I have been playing a lot of Halo recently though.

Can someone please tell me how I can tell my team mates not to do something stright away., or as we all know "On Zulu"

Gonna post my demo impressions:

Graphics: From the helicopter ride in to the battles in the building they are very good, the helpicopter ride looks real. Guns look great, relextions and shadows are all very good. Reload anmiations are good aswell.

gameplay is amazing, the amount of options you can do with your team is big, telling them to assemble in front of a door and having options such as grenade and clear, breach and clear, or just clear room are all back from previous rainbow six games, also theres something called snake cam, which you can look under doors, and press the back button to select with enemys to attack first. Then when there assembles you hit A and your team clears the room. Ai is amazing, the way your teamates react to every situation from taking cover to clearing rooms is all very good, same thing as the terrorists, they all take cover very often and also quite sneaky. All much better AI than GRAW. The controls take some time to get used to, mainly the cover system but its fine after a while.

sound: also amazing, guns sound good, explosions are great, and the enemys voice acting is supberb, i really like the way when your down in a dark room thats just been shatered with explosions the enemys are all panicking and shouting things that echoe round the room, all very nice.

Really think this game will be good, possibly better than graw, judging by the gameplay, multiplayer can only be better, really looking forward to this. A Gears of War beater!! well maybe lol.

One gripe I have. There is no "finishing" cover animation. I want it gears or war style and be fluent when I am peaking out and want to move from that position. Instead when you let go of the left trigger it goes into first person mode. :(

yeahs thats a small problem, the cover system takes a bit of time to get used to.


o and i forgot to mention the rappling down the building and all crashing through the windows that it fun :)

Well just finished playing the demo and it was good. Just as i thought it would. Apart from snake cam it was pretty much same old same old! Which is good as you always know what your getting from the rainbow six series:D So all in all from me its a thumbs up(Y)

In the last Rainbow Six that came out a few months ago, yanno the one that was like a remake of the old games.

edit: No wait, I think the commander of R6 left and Chavez took place, which would explain why he's not fighting.

Yeah, Ding is now head though, so he stays back at base and commands.

And as far as I know Dieter and all of the others should be there..

D, they are some of the soldiers in the squad. The names are from Tom Clancy's book, and I think it's cool because it gives a bit more life to the game.

Nah, it still doesn't really. Not on this level, anyway.

On GRAW, what BS is saying happens with sniper rifles, but then again if you're a good sniper you should hit them with the first bullet anyway. :D Plus I use the sniper which is the most accurate over a full clip - the M107.

Doesn't happen at all with rifles. At least, not for me. Or maybe I'm just incredibly brilliant.

Actually theres onlyone thing i do hate about this demo, and thats the night vision and thermal goggles. The rest is great.
