For some reason when I put one of my Digital Cameras in, Canon Digital IXUS 800 IS, it doesn't appear in Finder I can only access it via iPhoto or the Software provided. Neither of which I want to use.

Can anyone help us out with this?

BTW Was this thread intended for PC and Mac Games or just General Chat?

hmmm the only thing i can think is that its canons own software thats stopping it.

go into apps > utilities > disk utility and i assume its showing up in there?

also if you dont want any app to open when you plug in your camera goto apps and open image capture, then goto prefs and you can change it there.

Haven't installed any onto my Computer yet, I haven't had to previously to view other Camera or Media Devices. That way I can use pick my own Software to use. Or just view them as Thumbnails and upload them to Flickr.

It's not appearing in Disk Utility but it does appear in System Profiler under USB

Cheers, I'll try that

hmmmmm well if its not appearing there then it means it cant see it as a disk at all. Is it internal memory, or like a CF/SD card?
Has it ever come up on the desktop?

It's an SD Card, and it's never came up on the desktop, I've only had this one since yesterday.

Edit: I wonder if it's the Camera itself stopping the Computer from Displaying it, may try it on my Brothers Memory Card Reader see if I get anything different. I assume I will but that still doesn't really help me as I want it on my Mac not his XP.
