Basically its a usb hub but you can twist it round to the desired way you want like a rubiks cube. I'll bet it saves you from most of the wire tangles that I used to get with my standard hub.

I thought this was a pretty neat and practical idea. You can read more about it from www.gizmodo.com (http://www.gizmodo.com)

That's pretty sweet, I could do with something like that because something are too big to fit into a usb with other things in, if you know what I mean, and I'm sick of getting extenders.

Still, I wonder how the joints are constructed. Will it eventually break from metal fatigue?

Why even ask? you know everything, don't you? or do you just try and act like you do?

And why don't you buy one and find out? no doubt you wouldn't agree with someone if they said it did get metal fatigue.

Actually, I think it's pretty clear that I wouldn't be surprised if someone bought it and said its connections eventually broke down because of the twisting. And, I think it's also pretty clear that I'm reluctant to buy one for exactly that reason, unless someone can point me to something that says that was an anticipated and rectified issue.

Yeah but the thing is, how often would they twist it? it's not something you would twist 50 times per day is it? you would twist it into position and keep it there for a long time unless you attend 7 LAN events per week.

And I don't think someone would produce and release a product that had a problem like this. And considering it's around £18 I guess you would get your moneys worth before it eventually breaks.

Heh. Personally, if I had something like this, I don't think I'd be able to resist twisting it at least a few times a day, especially if it was just sitting on my desk.

And, you just explained why I believe someone would release a product that didn't have some well-thought-out gyro type joints. It's because it's only $22. Even so, I'd be a little mad at myself and the product if it broke, and the last two or three USB ports have unreliable connections.

Look at the 360 headset. A couple of friends of mine have simply worn out their wires, and the sound to the earpiece annoyingly goes in and out, so they're forced to always pump voicechat through their proper speakers. Why did MS release a product like that? Because metal fatigue is something most people are used to, especially in cheap headphones. And the 360 headset is just a cheap headphone and a slightly-better mic.

I guess you're right, but if it was something I needed I would just splash the cash and buy it, for all I know it could last for years, then again it could last for weeks.

I do hate the 360 headset as it's too light and the quality is poor but I have not seen any of those problems, saying that I have only used it like 4 times, but again when you buy cheap crap this is the risks you have.

Well, I'm glad we can reach something of an agreement.
