What's the easiest way to Back-Up some DVDs, like the best software to use and doing it on a Mac.

also a program called Handbrake converts the DVD into Xvid

and i assume you own all these DVDs? :D

I'd also recommend the way I do it, which is a combo of Mac the Ripper and Toast 7 Titanium.

• I'll do a Full Disc Extraction in Mac the Ripper.

• Then in Toast:

Click "Movies" > "DVD-Video From Video_TS Folder" > Then select destination of your Video_TS folder from ripped DVD

Click "Fit-To-DVD Video Compression". (Single layer DVD people only )

Then "Copy Options" will give you the option to choose the Main Movie from the folder or if you just leave it it will copy (and compress if needed) the whole DVD, and depending on the size of the media your copying it will tell you what the quality will be. If it's a 6GB DVD let's say, I would normally select the "Main Movie" in the "Copy Options". So when it extracts and burns the main movie to a 4.7GB disc it might fit onto the DVD without compression (as it will be cutting out everything but the film). If you want the whole DVD with all of the extras and menu's it might cost you in quality (if the DVD your copying is a bigger than the DVD you can write to). If you have a dual layer DVD burner, you'll probably only use these options to cut out the menu's.
