I'm running Adium for MSN Messenger as I had problems with the Messenger for Mac Version.

However my Problem is, that Adium isn't finding my Contact List and Messenger for Mac isn't showing anyone online... Granted it could be that everyones done a runner and doesn't want to chat.

But is Anyone else experiencing problems or is it just me?

I wouldn't mind but Windows Live Messenger works fine on Boot Camp Windows XP...this is so annoying.

The MSN service is terrible, anyway. It's a pity AIM isn't as widely used...

Yea I have an AIM account but all my friends use MSN :(

So unfortunately I have to stick with it.

I feel the exact opposite. Over here AIM is used unbelievably much, I wish either Yahoo or MSN would be widely adopted.

They're both better.

Not all day, just the last few hours. You've been set to Away all day though.

But I like how you changed your msn name now!

"BIG D - I'm not away just my MSN is crap!! may not reply because his or her status is set to Away."

Quality!

Live Messenger is problematic if you use Zone Alarm as a firewall as well. Things like display pics not loading, unable to transfer files, even signing in is dodgy. There are ways to fix this though, but you have to manually alter files in safe mode. Since I've done this, there's no problems for me anymore.

Yep I'll second that and since I've now done it too with the aid of Fleeboi of course :)

So those of you who are unfortunate or unlucky enough to be on my WLM list you can now see my display picture once again.

I would have to disagree. The problem with MSN is not that it is lacking features or anything like that, rather the service is poor. The number of times that it simply refused to sign me in or... work, as opposed to AIM, is large.

This on a PC or a Mac? or Both?

As I don't seem to have any troubles when running it on XP or even Vista Beta

No- this has nothing to do with anything 'at my end'. I've never had any problems with any of the client programs I use, no matter what the platform- Windows 98, XP, OS X... etc. Rather, the service is crap for MSN. Too often have I tried signing in, only to be told that my saved username and password are apparent incorrect, or some such other nonsense... :P

Everyone should just use Yahoo and get along.. :)

It's the best of the 3.

Well you can use Yahoo and still add MSN Messenger Friends...but that still doesn't help the MSN Service itself.
