Just thought i would vent some anger here too - Man United legend Keane has lef tthe club (as of friday) sad day for manchester united! :'(

Yup, I think he'll join Celtic, although I'm not sure if they'll be able to cope with his wage demands.

Yup, I think he'll join Celtic, although I'm not sure if they'll be able to cope with his wage demands.
i see him taking a wage drop - no where is going to pay him £120,000 a week at this stage of his career.
He'd sign on at celtic for a lot less i feel - he has always wanted to play for celtic, and lets face it, he is not short of cash.
One stumbling block is whether Strachan wants him there. He had a terrible start to the season up there and has just got celtic back on track and playing good football. If Keane joins, it could undermine or weaken GS's position. Any loss could be greeted by calls for Keane to be installed as boss. the pressure on GS would become even greater.

Yeah, I've never got the wage thing with footballers like Keane. Something like 10 grand a week should easily be enough for him, yet he wants 90-odd, and will probably end up getting at least 30 or 40 wherever he goes. Rio Ferdinand is another one; he was already on a 100,000 a week deal, but he wanted more. Greedy bandit.
Strachan might not want him because it would disrupt a team that is playing well right now. It would probably result in dropping Neil Lennon, who has been a key part of the team for years now, and would not be dropped without a fight. Petrov, Nakamura and McGeady are the other ones who could be dropped, and the most realistic out of that lot would be McGeady, with Nakamura possibly moving out to the right to take up his position, with Petrov moving out right and Keane into the centre. They couldn't drop Petrov, because he's the only world class player at the club, and Nakamura being dropped would result in outrage in Japan, where Celtic make a lot of money due to merchandise sales and the Japanese fans buying Celtic games in due to Nakamura.
So, yeah, it'd have to be McGeady being dropped, but they might also want to avoid that seeing as he's on excellent form right now.

i can't help but wonder when McGeady is going to get his full Irish call up - considering the other 'great' midfielders we have.

He WAS good, not a legend, was as in five years ago. I'm not a Man U fan but even if I was I wouldn't consider him a great loss. He's no longer up to premiership standards and cause a lot of problems backstage i.e in the derssing-room. :| :brow :|

I think a lot of United fans thought he would go, and a lot that i spoke to felt he should have gone in the summer, and we should have brought someone new in. As things stood prior to him being kicked out of the club, some people felt his presence was the reason no one could replace him. how can you replace a player if you never play? However, although i agree it may have been time for Keane to step aside, the way in which it happened is what causes the problems. Keane should have been given a legends send off, he should have been able to say good bye to the fans from the pitch, not booted out and gagged.

Sounded funny hearing the fans chanting his name after the game last night.
Where next? B'ham, Celtic?

Well hes here now and he has been solid as a rock once he got going not too hard up here but he seemed the same player as he always had and just does the easy things well.
Champs League next season with Keane is a fantastic boost because I think he could do a Makalele role easy.
Just thought Id post up:D

I think iit has just been a niggling injury which a minority of players unfortunately have.
But I had seen him playing on MOTD or was it ITV Premiership every Saturday and the guy is pretty much the same.GREAT:D
I know a lot of you "diss;)" the SPL but I will tell you its a hell of a lot faster and physical game than the priemership.
He's past it, I hope he stays on another season at Celtic.

I have to say, I've really not noticed him all that much for Celtic. Maybe he's playing in a more conservative role or something, but he's definitely not as good as he was when playing for Man United.
Will be good to see him in the Champions League, though. See if he's still got it.

Roy Keane wasn't a legend? I hope in the six months you aged, you matured.
Roy Keane was one of the best players in the world of his generation. Gerrard (or any player similar to Keane) compared to Keane is but a pebble compared to a boulder. I may write something up to educate a few people around here of the quality of Keane's brand of football.

Blaze, you've forgotten my lesson on the distinction between the human-interaction of the World and the human-interaction-via-computer of the Internet, which is puzzling considering the said lesson is in the post you responded to.
Age is of no consequence; acumen and acuity is of consequence. I have to admire your élan; your vigorous devotion to gain acceptance. You know, you're a bright lad, Blaze [note: joke], but you should obviate the bitter-imbued and jealous-endowed tone of your posts.

No one can respond to that kind of ostentatious, hackneyed and incoherent writing. And I quite clearly stated: "If you want your questions answered, type a coherent post (question)". How can you derive 'bowing out' from that sentence? Or have you knowingly misinterpreted a simple sentence to divert my response from your turgid writing?

I wrote a piece somewhere around here about interpreting language and deriving meaning from language. I suggest you search for it; otherwise you could go on attributing words to posts that are not explicitly written in said posts. But you won't do that anymore, because that's the hallmark of idiots, and you're not an idiot are you, Mez?
Blaze Lord

This is, by my count, the fourth time your only reply to something has been 'Look at my previous post about meaning, kid.' Even if you're a little reluctant to say it's ineffective, I hope you can agree it's approaching annoying.
Kubrick
14/May/06, 03:53 PM
Blaze, I'm not going to entertain replies that are based upon what they thought I wrote; it's written explicitly in my posts. If some members have trouble deriving the correct meaning from text, then I'm afraid I will have to keep repeating myself until such a time that members reply to the correct meaning of text. Simple isn't it, Blaze?
