Yeah, they are a waste of money.
Like AJ said, you can get everything you need to know on the Internet. :)
Hi im currenly subscribed to x360 you get (In every magazine)
1 cd (With guides , wallpapers, theme ect)
One book with info on currently relased games and the magazine (oboiusly) Plus if you subscribe you get them 3-4 day early, free postage ,and thier half price £2.50 instead of £5.00 @ tesco I paid £40 (Via cheque) for a 12 month subscription.

I have to agree with Thornbad and AJ...
Magazines have passed their Sell by Date, any exclusives that magazines once had are spread round the internet in secounds. So by the time the magazines written, printed and publsihed the news has been on the net for a good month and it's old news.
I wouldn't bother signing up for any Magazines, what you should just do is find a few good sites for info... 360Monster being one of them but there's plenty of Unofficial and Official websites that provide Free news and rumours that are ccurrently circulating.

I think the need for magazines is quickly disappearing as even corporations like Gamespot see how online subscriptions can give you instant news and information. Many independent sites like 360monster give tremendous amounts of information and news as well of course and with an ever growing community to share it with also.
Xbox Live Marketplace for game demonstrations, themes, videos... the need for cover disks is also no longer there... I think for gamers in particular, online subscription (not always required) and independent sites are the way to go now.

TV Mag's are pointless now. There are great Guide's online that are free.
Magazines should be made extinct. :p

If I'm not mistaken, there have been cases of OXM having demos on its disk that aren't yet on the Marketplace. But OXM here costs $10, so even skipping the sub and just buying off the stand whenever that happens isn't worth the money.
Video game magazines are dying out, and part of me agrees with Thornbag and thinks that's what they deserve. But another part of me thinks they should start earning their keep, and use their cash (since they do still make more than websites possibly can) and do some actual journalism to make it worth it. As it is all they do is attend press conferences and play preview game builds, all of which any game company would be happy to give to a website that reaches the same number of people. They're too passive, so as has already been said, their 'exclusives' don't stay that way.

Fear demo was out on the official mag a while back...still not on the Market Place.
I guess they're gonna lock out all the big demo's for a month or so so that desperate people will actually pay for it.
Haven't bought a mag for years..aside from the odd bored at the hospital/airport/train station purchase.
