Moving to retail Xbox 360 games, Microsoft confirmed Japanese launch dates and prices for a number of its anticipated titles from Japanese developers. Interestingly enough, Tecmo's Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 and Capcom's Lost Planet will retail for the equivalent of $79 and $71, respectively. Microsoft gave no indication as to how those price points were decided.
What, $80 for a Beach Volleyball game?!?!?!! That's crazy, I really hope they still make it $60 over here in the US.. I can't see people paying that much for either of them. Have to wonder what Capcom and Tecmo are thinking. :brow:

Hmmm. Well, they've been getting a lot of games for cheap. About time they had a premium.

Yeah we pay that amount for every game released lol.
Does sound stupid though that a Volleyball game is going to be priced more than lets say Halo 3 for example. :brow:

But we're talking about Japan, a country where FPSs, even the Halo King-Of-FPS just doesn't sell very well. Bouncy, perky, physics defying bikini-bound breasts, on the other hand, sells like hotcakes. As for Lost Planet, maybe the thinking is just being from a Japanese publisher is enough.

Yep I have to agree with BL on this one. Also they are Japanese launch dates and prices (according to the quote in the first post) so they will more than likely be different when they retail on other continents.

I think the important word is equivalent, you can't just stick an exchange rate and these prices and assume they will be the same...
Like in the UK we pay a pretty much standard of £40 (Online), £50 (in-store).... That would be $75/$94 US Dollars (Online/In-store). So I'd wait until figures have been announced for the respective countries/regions.

i hope it is that price for america, then it'll be like when test drive was a budget title over there, but we had to pay full price over here
Aye these Americans have it easy, now they have to suffer what we suffer and they can't handle it :)

They get their 360 for pennies overthere, so making them pay more for the good titles makes sense I suppose.

Where's the quote taken from? It mentions equalivent but what was the original price and in what currency...
I can't see them over pricing in any region. Maybe lowering some prices in one region of another

It's from Gamespot, Big D. Check their coverage of Microsoft at TGS, it's in there.
Just interests me that the price in Japan has gone up, it could very well mean that us in the US and UK will see increased prices for these.

After reviewing the Article it appears as if this is some what taken out of proportion... I don't see it as an Issuse as they seem to have there games in a certain range.
Where in the US and UK we have a pretty much standard price so I con't see this changing for us here or across the pond.
