Dead Rising - not too impressed.

As the title say's.

Switched on. Me and my mate. Cutscenes were really boring. Game starts, he got killed. I was like "LOL! Asif!". I had a go - got killed. great. 8-)

After a few atempts we got to Brad. To "back him up". Now what to do?

How the hell does this Carlito dude die? I shoot him (or attempt to with that CRAP Pistol) but he doesn't die and in the end, end's up killing us. We had about 5 go's. Couldn't do it.

And we got bored. REALLY bored. Even though we played on the demo for hours and hours.




So we put Madden on, and that was absolutely amazing. So out of my 2 games, I know which one i'll be sticking to.

Might go take Dead Rising back and get Test Drive. :unsure:

I ent got it but after having a look at it and the way the achievements are given seems very repetitive...

Still looks fairly interesting and another I noticed is that Subtitle thing would really annoy me, why don't they jsut have the Characters talking.

yup, the text is awful, but for some weird reason you do ajust to it, at first i couldnt read a word, but now i can get the majority of it.

as for carlito, you just gota keep shooting, if you cant do it, go to the gun shop first and stock up ( in the north plaza )

repettitve, maybe, but there are different ways the game can be played, different endings, and even different game modes. i feel it is a realy good game, esp how the "time" aspect is set out, dont want to save someone ? fine, they die! lol

Well Thorny i have both tdu and dead rising....dead rising is the far better game, but tdu is very very good.

I hated the dead rising demo and at first could not get into it, but once you do it turns out to be one of the best games created...it might not be totally groundbraking, but a ahck and slash that makes you think, now that is different.

TDU is great though, but the game is full of idiots. In ranked matches they try to knock you out of the way, off your bike or quit as you win. I won three club races and it did not give me the achievement? why crap server and it's not even that laggy!

Stick with dead for the time being, then get tdu when everyone has finished with it

I ended up dying loads to start off with and capcom knew people why, as you restart with all your full stats....You just have the give the game a chance i got fed up of dying but then i just played seriously and have really enjoyed it thus far :)

Yea the text must suck for Standard Defintion Users,

my only complaint is that, Otis keeps calling ALL the time and i have to read what hes saying while dodging loads of zombies and unable to use a weapon....i dont like that with that much action on screen i'd like the charactors to speak. cos its a right put off.

But overall its very good.

You can kill Carlito in about 5 seconds...just pick up the SMG from the blue canopy above where you first enter the mall.

Also when in thr food court pick up a few bottles of wine as they fill in about 4-5 energy blocks in case you still get thrashed.

i bought dead rising about a 2 weeks ago. Its good fun thrashing zombies with loadsa items within your grasp to use against them + I love freedom games.

Yeah i got this on recomendation but after a couple of hours it got tiresom so i gave it a couple of more days to find not much changed. There are only so many time you can laugh at certain bits before it gets boring, Took it back.

Just 72 hour mode thats it

Oblivion has loads of diferent things hense you could say diferent modes. Can say one mode about any game but in all seriousness

both modes on Dead rising are the same. Its a small area if you think about it. Same Mall just doing the same thing.

I have a friend whos played for somthing like over 140 hours, he isnt half way through and hes better at the game than me.

Dead rising all i heard from the its release was "Oh it looks amazing the zombies come in hundreds and so much to do"

Its a Resident Evil rip off plain and simple

Resident evil make you scared give you somthing to get spooked over even a good story line.

Dead rising is nothing scary, the zombies are pretty much docile slow and no where near a challenge even in a 100 mass group.

Story line is crued and out of common sense. Graphics are good for what it is.

Its a glorified State of Emergency. Same theme and style of gameplay. Should be worth £20 not £50

Oblivion is far better and has well over 150 hours worth of gameplay

I don't see how you can draw comparisons between Oblivion and Dead Rising...there's not really any common ground.

Both games are the top of their respective genres.

Dead Rising and State of Emergency is a fair comparison but even mentioning the two in the same sentence is wrong...SoE is poor, very poor and held my attention for not even 5 minutes....I couldn't put Dead Rising down for a week, didn't even take the disc out the 360 tray, and would still be playing it now but for me wanting to progress a bit in Saints Row.

I know at least ten people that beat it with no difficulty after playing the game for 10 minutes, myself included. That's all I'm saying, is that everyone in this thread complains how hard it is, but I don't think so.

Right enough of this its obvious to me that you guys will have to agree to disagree on the hardness of the game.

I didn't find Carlito that hard but I levelled up a couple of times before I even attempted to take him on. When I did finally take him on I did as Donk suggested earlier in the thread I slashed him to bits with the katana. It all depends IMO what level you are because you can't run that fast at the beginning. Once your speed levels up your on your way to better things.

Personally, at first i was the same, i couldnt do it, but as Dcontrol says best thing is to level up, after a few hours of random hack n slash, wasn't that hard.

As for comparison to resident evil, yes it is similar, but id say it was a modified res evil, and personaly i think , and i feel lots of others do aswell, that its a good mod, a lot more action, more zombies, more weapons. but hey, thats opinions for ya.
