Don't think I'm going to get it anyway, I need a decent camera for footage of me skating. If I get a Wii I would neglect it tbh.

I read in the Metro Newspaper today that the launch price was £115.

Just checked my emails and other sources are confirming the £179.99 with bundled Wii Sports.

I think they might have just priced themselves out of a few purchases with that price.

I'm angry.

The BBC is saying that the price is straight from Ninty and that it's €249 which is £168 so the UK is paying even more AGAIN! WHYYYY!!!!!!!??

Isn't it because we earn more money from wages in the UK than we do from the likes of America?

And stop double posting man, just edit your previous post.

It's called a thread not "edit your post". That means it's a running conversation. If I have something to say then i'll say it.

Good idea - You never know Ninty might wake up and hear people being unhappy with the high Euro and UK price point, then drop the price before they release it. Here's to hoping(Y)

17.5% tax is why.

Also is the USA price of $250 including or excluding tax? I'm just trying to figure out the proper cost of it.

The price doesnt bother me, i was going to buy Wii Sports anyway, so with the price as it stands it works out fine for me (£150 for console, £30 for Wii Sports, which i think is fair enough).

I preordered mine today, im number 2 on the preorder list :) So i think its fair to say that ill get one on launch day (i also bought a load of fudge when i went to preorder, so the day just keeps getting better and better for me :) ).

I'll probably buying Zelda on launch day, its said to be more then twice as long as OOT so that should keep me occupied for awhile. I'll also be buying Wii Play, as when you buy that you get a bunch of mini games and a remote (not a nunchuck).

So that will be 3 games on launch day itself (Zelda, Wii Sports & Wii Play), then ill preorder Red Steel and Rayman off the net so i save about £20.

Now all i need to do is figure out where my Wii will go

Most houses normally have a bowl with water in and a lid on top. Some people like tyo put it in there

There's alot of issuses when counting up the cost's of items, you can't blame it on one senerio or another. The fact of the matter is even in Europe the prices can be slightly higher or lower due to numerous factors.

If however you feel it is too high, get yourself on a European website order it, you won't have to pay any import costs. If you choose a country that has the same Power Supply as use. I only know of Ireland and maybe Cyprus that do.. do a bit of research and you won't have a problem. Or simply buy a Euro/UK Plug Converter small and cheap.

I think the price is pretty good. I spent a hundred quid on my DS, so this seems ok relative to that. Oh, and I wont be pre-ordering with play after the (stop changing words to fool the swear filter) up they made of the 360 launch. Comet came through for me last Chrimbo, so they'll get my custom this time, too.(Y)

Well have fun waiting for your console and games (Y)

I really think they should make it £150 and it would fly off the shelves. Maybe they put it up as they knew wii in Europe were not going to be seeing the PS3 till March 2007, and so thought they could make more cash off people who want a new console for crimbo.:s

That is truly an awful pun. :zip:

As for the price of the Wii I don't think it is too high. So we heared a rumour that it would retail for around the £150 mark which I didn't and couldn't believe until I saw an official statement from Nintendo themselves (which I never have). I'm not too overly keen on the Wii, the jury is still out for me. If I do get one though it will be a good couple of months after the release date.

I preordered mine on friday from comet online. It was the first day of their taking orders. Hopefully they'll come through for me like last year. (Y)
