Sonys supposedly In-Game shots of Lair, well they don't look very in-game compared to some new shots released by the developers....
Article - edit/ article was removed as i have to be a little less anti-ps3 for various reasons :D

Yeah i seen it...they have always lied about what the ps3 could do. All early movies were CGI, they said it was a representation at what the ps3 would achieve!
Now obviously that was BULL....
Sony might have failed already now

I love post where people write something then end it with words like "cya", as if they popped their head round a door and commented on a convo, then just left as quickly as they had appeared.
Love it.

Why do you need to be unbiased? Who cares?

08/Sep/06, 09:06 PM
Yeah, it's pretty hard to be un-biased against Sony even if you usually like them.
I don't blame them for things like the Europe release being delayed, but this is just crap (N)

No, because I understand Blu-Ray is a new technology and they might have problems producing it. Not really their fault. They could have not put Blu-Ray in but they decided to so..
But with them lying and crap like this, now that pisses me off. I hate when companies lie to us.
No, I actually wouldn't think of buying a PS3 till March even if I wanted one, just to be fair.

Actually, I think they dropped their plans of a global launch so they can put a lot of units in one territory, America, in order to say that the PS3 launch beat the 360 launch in two regions: NA and Japan. It's smart.

Problem with that theory is, they're only giving the Japs 100,000 at launch. To me, they should give them the most. The 360 is losing there horribly, they need to take advantage of that. Take the easy one first then aim for the stronger one. Also seems like they're giving the Japs the short end of the stick when they've been the most loyal.

Nah, no way Japan should get the most. It's a smaller country. A 4:1 ratio is kinda generous towards Japan. 100,000 at launch is enough as it is to beat the 360s numbers there. Why put more there, when the 360 did around 330,000 in its first week? They need the 400 in NA. They don't need more than 100k in Japan.

I don't think you should have to be unbiased Swifty, even with the launch of PS3Monster people will and I'm sure other staff members will be more pro and more anti certain consoles.
Theres no possible way of getting around this, granted with the launch of PS3 Monster but all you need now is some Pro-Sony staff to argue [or debate] with.

and we get suckered with a bugger all ratio.
if sony are doing it, like you said, to beat a 360 record, they need to sort themselves out.

Mark my words, come middle of next year, we'll be hearing about how the PS3's launch was more successful than the 360s, because they shipped more to North America (and sold out, obviously). And sold out in Japan.

That thought had never crossed my mind until you pointed that out, it makes perfect sense, as well as the delay in Europe, now they will be able to make far more units for the European release, so they can claim better launches in all 3 major territories at e3 07.

Pretty much. And it's not like during a keynote a reporter can stand up and say "Uh, excuse me, Kaz, but.. Didn't you guys back off of doing the global launch that MS succeeded at, and isn't that why you can fudge the numbers this way?"
Luckily, this plan only helps them in the short term, and only with people who geek out on this stuff. After all, the average gamer probably has only vague memories of the PS3 being delayed. It's not like they read enough to know who had a better launch.\
Hopefully the global launch will help MS in the long term. Being in more markets for longer, hopefully having sales snowball with ads and word of mouth.

Japan is not a small country, 12 milion people live in tokyo thats 10% of the total and together with 2 other citys that i dont remember the names makes it the world's biggest "city".
Japanese are crazy about sony and nitendo, believe me it's a good move from sony.

It's a good move? Are you disagreeing with me or agreeing..?
And you're right, the Japanese are crazy about Sony. So, since Sony knows they're gonna sell out every single shipment they send to Japan for the next.. I dunno, 18 months, there's no reason for them to risk their business in the other regions for the sake of the Japanese. But if Sony's worried that they only have, say, 6 months of that honeymoon period in NA, then they need to stuff as many of their Blu-Ray infested camel-consoles into America's piehole as they can in that window. After all the hardcore Sony fanboys are saturated, Sony needs to do some actual marketing work, and they need the momentum of 400,000 and more.
Japan may have a decent sized population, but NA is still bigger.
What I think right now it's that the console will maybe come first in JAPAN only and then NA.

I don't think they need to bother with Japan, as they already have them under there thumb. If they were to only concentrate on One Region it would be North America.
And you know what...Let them. Then Microsoft can concentrate on us [Europeans] and then end up with a Majority in the NA and EU Regions
