Alright guys. Well my life seriously as gone spiraling down this past month. Besides the constant Yankees success and the good Philadeplhia Eagles training camp, my real world life has had some troubles. Between my 360 shutting down, finding out I got moved down in some of my classes to Academic 1 from Honors, to two fights I have gotten into something else has happened.

So here I am playing football like I normally do. But for some reason; Coach has put me at Full Back this day. Which is really quite annoying because I hate that position alot and I hardly ever play it. Now this play is called a FB Sweep when the FB actually runs on a sweep play. So I get passed the line and once I get into the Backs segment of the field; a Defensive Lineman hits my calf helmet to leg. This hurts like hell. But my attention wasn't on the pain at the current time because a Defensive Back was right infornt of me. He dove and hit helmet to shin. Now what happened is this. Both basically hit me within 1 second. The DB (who is arguabley the best part of our team) hit me right below my knee, breaking it in a couple of spots. Then from the other collision on my backsidea part of my muscle tore. Basically they both hit in a spot by the medial gastro something. Tearing that muscle, and causing multiple fractures on the side of my tibia.

In the end of it all...my leg is shot. I won't be able to walk for 3-4 months and even then I will need another cast for support. This really really hurts, but at least I can still play 360. :)

Not to sound slack but I thought in American Football it was solid to get hurt with all that padding they were. I'm not comparing it will football more with Rugby...

It was just always an assumption, I guess you proved me wrong there.

If they didn't wear padding in American Football, They would be counting Injuries, they would counting deaths. Remember, you have guys that are 6'5, 6'10 over 250 Pounds who sole purpose is to knock you silly.

Is it rough, or do lot [Americans] like to make it out like that.

I think I need to watch a game of this... might be on five someday

A Very tough sport, the player have to go through hell to train for the season. However, I would rather go back on topic, I don't want this to become a "Rugby is so much tougher then American Football" thread.

Nah man, as Killer said, without the padding, players's careers would last on average about 2 or 3 seasons.

The padding is there because, unlike in rugby, where there are specific ways to tackle so as not to injure the player, American football defenses are only there to stop you, and they don't give a crap how. The front line is a bunch of 400lbs guys who will crush you, the midlle line is linebackers who are 300lbs but also usually tall and quick, and the secondary is 200lbs guys who could sprint the 100m in near-Olympic time, but can also hit hard.

The padding isn't there to prevent injury. It's there to prevent SERIOUS injury. :D

Yes, Leeeee, but read what Aj said. In Rugby, they don't tackle to injure you, they tackle merely to stop you without injuring, it's a family sport. ;) Init.

Anyway, unlucky Stevie. :(
