Oblivion - is it a bit g33ky?

So I got my prize off 360Monster today (well, I could finally be assed to go pick it up rom the Posty). So I got home and fired Oblivion up.

Im not quite sure what to make of it though. :unsure:

Sure, it looks great. But I mean, I am a guy ,with no top on, running round caves putting spells and potions onto goblins. I mean, how old am I? The concept sounds really crap.

Then when you get outside into the free world my opinion changed. It was great, the ability to roam far and wide on a horse with no name (:D :cool).

Im just not sure what to make of it.

What do you all reckon?

It's a great game when you get in to it....it's more action orientated than a D&D-esque dice rolling game...which is where the real nerdy, spotty, greasy hair, BO soaked Iron Maiden T-Shirt wearing freaks come out.

Ya know we're all sort of geeks for having 360s already, and TB you especially for having 5,000 posts on an XBOX 360 forum :D

As for Oblivion it's really good but I just can't get dragged in, and I kind of don't want to, I like having part of a life :)

But Oblivion really really really really really is boring.

Now before you start saying I hate RPG's I'll have you know I think Fable is amazing, so I don't. ^_^

Fable isn't that great an RPG... and I found the combat in Fable much more boring...
Quadstrike spell (forget the name), Assassin Rush, attack... repeat
But all in all I think comparing the combat in Fable vs Oblivion is silly because Fable action is much more arcadely... its like comparing galaga vs Blazing Angels or I dunno a good fighter game.

Also there isn't nearly as much to do in Fable as there is in Oblivion..

I didn't think that Oblivion was geeky I just thought it was a good and well made entertaining game. There are loads of quests to do and so many different character combinations it :cool: Some of the downloadle content is pretty cool too.

Im in the first Oblivion portal thing, I have killed all the little goblins and opened the two big gates in the middle, by going into some sort of cave. Now I am stuck...dunno where to go as I need to free some chava from somewhere. There is one other place I can go in, but when I get quite far through it I need a key whic hI don't possess.

What am I missing?

On one of the towers adjacent to the main fortress or whatever is a guy in a cage being held prisoner. He gives you a key and tells you what you need to do next.
