Tough decision! Help me out...

It's been quite some time since I've posted here...mainly because I never bought a 360 in the end. I've always been pretty strapped for cash...

But some good news came in recently! Seems my great-uncle died and basically to cut a long story short I got AU$20k. I've already spent like $2k on a new bass guitar (frickin' sweet!), Multi-FX pedal, pocket PC, speeding fine :S, PLUS I'll be going overseas next year round June-July to pay you Poms and Frogs a visit! That's right! Domfunkle in the UK!

Anywho, the time has come to decide whether or not I should take the plunge and buy a 360. The price has no doubt come down a little bit over the past few months since its release in the land of Oz, but I'm still a bit unsure...

Do you think I should buy one? I'm really trying to be as thrifty as possible with this money. It's not to be blow away on anything willy-nilly and I like to justify my purchases, especially ones that cost half a grand. Maybe you guys can gimme a hand...

See if you can pursuade me to bite the bullet and buy a 360..

Nice - but in the wrong kind of circumstances. 3 words - get one now. 3 games now to get - chromehounds, n3 and pgr3. 3 games to get very soon test drive unlimited, saints row and dead rising.

I also just remembered that I haven't played an xbox game in over 4 months because my xbox harddrive seized up on me. Maybe this is a good chance to replace it? Hopefully most of my old games are backwards compatible.

Hello there stranger! Sorry to hear about you great uncle. The 360 will probably go down in price but not until a while after or just as the PS3 is launched so if you can wait then do so. Personally I'd get one now as its an awesome console with some really :cool: games and its reasonably priced when I consider I forked out over £300 for the original xbox on the day of its launch many a moon ago.

Seriously, get the 360. You want to be able to carve out some damage in the games already released. If you get a 360 at Christmas, you got the whole kick-ass winter (summer for you) lineup to get through, and you might have to shrug off some of the earlier gems.

Interesting choices of games, Prey and Burnout?

Wouldn't have done Prey, that is horrid online and the story spans about 8-10 hours..

I got prey cuz it was cheap---er..

I seriously would've gotten Saints Row..but they frickin sold out all 60 copies in one day..s

oh well...next time. I still got HEAPS of money left over

as for the 360? Love it!

I wanna get that VGA cable so I can hook it up to my 19" LCD Monitor for some nice HD gaming...that'd be pretty sweet
