Now I kow the only way in which you can get Music onto your Xbox 360 Hard Drive is to burn it onto a CD from your PC then rip it to the 360's HArd Drive.

However what format does it have to be in, can copy over Mp3's and AAC files or do I have to burn it as an Audio CD the Rip it.

Help would be appreciated

I know you can't use AAC files from iTunes - at least when you have them on an iPod. Really annoys me as a ton of my music is from iTunes and I can't use it. Starting to buy CD's again now...

As for it you can burn AAC then rip it, I don't know if that would work. I'm sure you could burn it in iTunes, rip it in WMA, then burn it again, but that's 2 CDs waisted and quality lost.

My problem with the music on the 360 is if you go into backwards compatability with music playing, there's no way to stop it. Ran into that problem last time my g/f was over and wanted to play Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, and I had some RHCP playing when I went in - couldn't turn it off.

Haven't been playing any BC Games lately, well since I lent my Halo 2 to my brther's mate so that really ent a problem for me.

I know you can't play Protected AAC Fils but theres some Uprotected Ripped CDS on my iTunes aswell as my brothers "downloaded" content.

Anything you've ripped from CDs or downloaded from Bittorrents you can use on a 360 once you burn it, from iTunes or any other program.

So yes you can just burn those songs to a CD then rip them onto your 360.

So do I have to burn them as an Audio CD or can I just write the actual files (MP3's and AAC's) to the CD's. If you get what I mean?

Audio CD. Data CDs don't work.

So the format doesn't matter. So, just to clear things up. Songs bought from iTunes won't stream to the 360, but you can burn-and-rip.

In addition, if you have any of the Media Remotes for the 360, the mini media remote, the longer universal remote, or (maybe!) the full blown Harmony remote. If you have one of these remotes, you CAN stop music in back compat mode. But only from the remote.

You can't transfer songs to the HArd Drive, you can only stream them.

Yeah Blaze has got it

I made a CD with MP3s but it came with the info details and images of the CD. The 360 read it as a mixed data disc but when I changed the settings on the burner voila it worked but I tend just to listen to music on my PC
