Xbox 360 the official magazine sucks

I was just reading the official xbox 360 magazine and saw this

I could not believe an official 360 magazine would encourage game saves what a load of rubbish(N) (N) (N)

I buy GAMES™ - The Multiformat Mag. Very good mag! (y)...I learned a good lesson not to buy single format mags. They tend to be idiots.

EDGE FTW, although I do buy Games TM occasionally. Either way the OXM always has been promoting things like that. I remember several reviews for Action Replay on the original Xbox.

Also, do you not remember, there was a time (about 1 - 1 1/2 years ago maybe) in which there were game saves on the demo disc for the OXM...

Although I agree with you, it's quite nice when you're on the train and need something to read.

I'm not even sure how true this is, though. I mean. If you recover your gamertag on a second console, all of your gamesaves are erased from the first console, right? Doesn't that mean that every game save is linked with a profile, and downloading a game save linked to someone else's tag is useless? Or have I missed something?

aprentlyyou loadthe save onto the harddrive under your profile and next time you load that game up it unlocks the points.

they have caught on and it only works on some of the games

Under your profile? You mean, the linking between tag and saves is done only by having a tag-specific directory? That's surprisingly weak.

Yes i saw this and thought eh? Official mags have always done this sort of thing - ie comment on copying etc - but now that achievements are invloved everyone seems to be going crazy for them. Ac swapping is a shame - dloading just to look good and be the best in the world!? Hmm i dont think so

to be fare i usually buy car mags or fhm etc but have been known to buy a few 360 mags but its alot more intresting and formative coming on here! unless like said above on a train etc!

Magazines? Psssh... they've been totally eclipsed by the internet, as far as my personal means of gathering information is concerned.

I must admit that in many cases, the layout and quality of writing of a magazine as compared to a website is superior, but it just doesn't warrant the (increasingly steep) cost of these magazines.

They're only good if you're planning to be on the toilet for a long time.

I buy PC Gamer religiously and last month bought OXM cos i wanted to try chromehounds demo (no xbox live so no market place). I was so disappointed by the total lack of content in OXM that and it's overall skinnyness. I can guarantee that i'll read PC Gamer cover to cover but OXM is so biased, pointless and just down right stupid that it offended me intellectually and hasn't even been looked at since that first buy. Waste of £6
