Well I see that the Beta is out now, unfortunitly for premium members subscribed at fileplanet/gamespy/3dgamer etc, so at a cost $$ :(

I don't know if I'd want to risk $$'s on just the ability to play test a work in progress title with potential bugs as well as the chance of not being able to get on the beta at all.

Is anyone on the Beta test, and would like to say what it's like?

Cheers

Yeah mee tooo. I think i might of alreadly been a beta tester for modern combat as it killed my system off everytime i played, so i havent got a problem in playing this if it's full of bugs. Kind of getting used to sending my 360 back now:zip:

If the PC BF2 servers are anything to go by it doesn't brim me with confidence to give it a try. Gonna have to wait for the demo me'thinks.

I just got an e-mail about that and I'm itching to try it, but I don't have a PC to run it on. If I did I would take the $5 on the shoulder, because I don't know if they're going to release an actual demo to everyone.

I am interested to give it a go. I find BF2 a bit slow paced for my liking. Hopefully the new one will be better.

Really looking forward to Quake Wars though. That was the main reason I built a new gaming PC.

Quake Wars will own BF2142 easy. I just read a review in GAMES™ Magazine about BF2142 so far. They were calling Dice geniuses for making multiplayer multi objectives. For example you gain control of the big guns which disable a shield of a hover ship then try to take the ship and destroy the core. Now this sounds pretty familiar to me.. Return To Castle Wolf anyone? I used to play RTCW till my fingers hurt as the multi objective online structuring was just amazing. And as it's the relative of Quake Wars then my loyalties lie with ETQW. Not to mention ETQW looks a hell of lot better than BF2142.

It depends how much you have. If you have 512 then definitely, but if you already have 1GB then I dunno if you need another GB, maybe 512 more.
