It reminds me of aving Private Ryan so i guess thats why i liek it! Also coz i readthe book it makes everything slightly cooler! and if any of you guys have seen it try and see the bit where they firstarrive in Carentan! It is exactly the same as COD! I have them but yet to watch them, I've seen most episode on TV anyway.
Stand out bits for me were the guy who gets his first kill...a Hitler youth I think it was and the part where the Germans are holding that village with Yanks either side and one does a run right thru the Germans lines...then back again...they all just stop and look at him gobsmacked...was quality!!
:)
yeah the series was awesome, and i thought it unusual for spielberg to direct a tv series

I nabbed the episodes quite a while ago, but never had a chance to sit and watch them. I have heard nothing but good things about it though.

I recently re-bought this for myself for £30 (Metal-Tin Edition) after buying it for my dad in 2003. I watched it myself over the summer back then and fell in love with it.
Best TV series ever in my opinion. Just everything about it is beautiful and gripping. It really got me interested in WW2 and now I have started going to WW2 museums and also got me into supporting my local WW2 aviation heritage center (http://www.lincsaviation.co.uk/). I even went to Normandy last year to see the the D-Day historical places, museums and cemeteries.
As I live in the middle of RAF bases in Lincs I found I'm surrounded by WW2 history here at home as-well. For example just up the road 2 miles away there's an airfield where some of the US Airborne dispatched from for D-Day. Then abit further down the road is where the Dambusters were based. I also found that where i went to college the house called Elsham House that was right next to our Graphics Studio was where the chief of Bomber Command lived during the war.
Anyway what I'm saying is that this series is so good it sparked me into appreciating an important time in the worlds history :) :fps:
