Just when the PS3 comes out i dont want all them stupid s tthat will constantly brag about there PS3's.

So in terms of graphics, power and speed how much more powerful wil it be?

From what I've heard, you won't notice the difference for a while, and when you do, it will be minimal, maybe like between an XBOX and PS2 [reversed though].

The biggest difference would be Blu-Ray, which isn't that important since you don't even have an HD-TV.

I think you have to say PS3 but the Blu Ray probs I think will see the 360 as the better console:)

The PS3 will most likely be more powerful in terms of graphic power but like Link said, the differences between the 360 and the PS3 will be minimal. I don't expect a leap as seen between the Xbox and the PS2 done vice-versa but if there is one I don't think that can kill the Xbox off as the PS2 did better than the Xbox without the graphics power advantage.

I think it has to do entirely on the developers. I can see Resident Evil 4 or God of War coming out on the Xbox 360 today and get good ratings for graphics. And I think the PS2 could of handled a Halo game. So it all winds up on how good of a game developers wind up in my opinion.

Honestly? I think it'll be weirder than that.

The Cell will be able to pull of obscure, not-a-big-deal-stunts, like.. in an FPS, walking past an electronics store, and a dozen televisions on display are showing different channels, and perhaps you can hear the blending babble of all of them. Whereas the 360 would only have six or eight tv's on screen. But it would have better lighting effects, for example, so you might be able to see the reflections of those screens off a nearby table better.

I haven't heard any developer really say either console is a huge amount better than the other graphics wise. The PS3 will be nowhere near as good graphically as the Sony fanboys would have you believe. I mean, have you seen the Tekken graphics!!

I dont think you will see any difference until around year 3. It seems to take developers forever to get the best out of the consoles these days.

Also it depends on the lead platform for the games being created. A lot of developers are using the 360 as their lead and porting code to PC and PS3 so you will see minimal differences. Look at COD3 as an example.

Err, COD3 isn't running off of the COD2 engine isn't a port from PC. Its a TreyArch game so its one of those console spinoffs. A true Call of Duty 2 sequel by Infinity Ward is in the works.

im glAD TO hear that the ps3 wont be too much better, i just think a 360 is so much better value for the money you are spending, the PS3 will probably have twice amount as problems some 360s have had.

As far as I am aware the PS3 is better than the 360 graphical wise and all those technical jargon nonsense. But it is also much more expensive and not worth the money for me at the moment.

I think the best thing to do is wait until the PS3 is out and then we can judge for ourselves which is better looking. Many developers have noted that the graphics unit in the 360 is actually a better design for graphics use since it is pretty close to how a PC graphics card works, making it easier for people to program for.

Just wait and see eh!

Remember that the xbox was far better than the ps2 but was only classed as slightly better. GTA san andreas made a point of this. However this time i remember the ps3 being a 1000 times more powerful, could do this, could do that Sony said. Well it's not half as powerful as Sony once claimed - trust me the 360 will win the games front.

Mass Effect vs Super Solid, Liqud, Iced, Solar Powerd Snake

Forza 2/PGR3 - 4 vs Gran Turismo 99

Gears of War vs Tekken 64

I know what i would rather play

Pretty sure it's the CPU that's difficult on the PS3, not the GPU. The GPU, according to Wiki, is pretty similar to a GeForce 7 series.

Raide

Yes, the GPU in the PS3 is close to a GeForce series card, the problem developers are having is getting that information from the Cell processors as a decent rate and also getting all of the Cell cores trying to sort that out.

Microsoft went a more unified route and developers of PC games find that easier to work with. Sony did not go the same way and many developers are finding it hard to get what they want from the system. GPU's, CPU's and RSX's, not to mention multi cores. I am sure people will put the time, money and effort into getting the PS3 working well but many smaller developers do not have the time or money to pump into a new title for the PS3. This is the reason why many developers are falling out with Sony because of the increased costs to produce games.

I may even get my hands on the PS3 if I am really, really lucky next week :) I will let you know

Uh.. Wait. Are you talking about http://360monster.com/forum/showpost.php?p=43235&postcount=1 this? Or just the idea of having so many minicores to begin with, as a concept? Form or execution?

As the finalized specs of the PS3 has not yet been released, it's debatable at this wether or not that it's more powerful than the 360, alot of intelligent posts have been made and discussed within many forums supporting each side, but my guess is that PS3 will look nicer in some areas, and worse in others just like Blazed said. As it seems that MS and Sony went in slighty different directions in deciding what area to focus on.

I watched a program on Bravo a couple of week's ago called...
Gamer tv i mentioned it in one of my thread's if i remember correctly.
They showed two of the new sonic the hedgehog games together one in ps3 and one in xbox360 not being bias but the 360 game looked better, the ps3 looked like there was to much colour and you couldn't see the mist raising from the river,as with the 360 you could see the mist raising superbly.
But you can not judge on one game.:geek:

That sounds exactly like what Blaze Lord was talking about with his TV example.
