Anyone else playing this at the moment? I'm hooked now, I started over since I regret Starting with a Top Club, Now, I started Unemployed, and signed with Puebla, a second division Mexican squad hoping to get promoted.

I won all of my friendlies, and I learned a lot of my new club, they need an improved defense, So I managed to get (After many rejected bids) Juan Javier Restrepo, a Columbian Defensive Midfielder, Who has been Capped for the Colombian National Team, one of only two, who have played on a national team (Other being Carlos Maria Morales, from Uruguay), got him for $2Mill, in a transfer budget of 3.2Mill, but I managed to sell a young stud for 1.5Mill, way more then he is worth.

I need a Striker, My current ones are solid, but one is old and won't last, I have my eye on a Paraguayan Striker, Hector Mancilla, but he is pricy.

Well anyone else play Football manager?

I've never been able to keep playing a football managerial game continuesly like I did back when I got Championship Manager 00/01. I think they are great and EXTREMELY addicting however my love for football has gone these days so me playing it is just like you guys playing a Tony Hawk's game.

Anyway, on Football Manager 2006 on the 360 I started off as Bolton and did half a season, then realising that being 13th-17th in the Premiership is not the way I want to be playing the game. So I decided to start a new game off in Italy and went for a big club (Inter Milan). I won Serie A in my first season and got well into my second season until one day I try to load my file and it wont load, seems it has corrupted. Therefore I decided to go into the Australian league and manage Sydney, where I ended up coming 2nd in my first season and was runners up in the FIFA Club Cup Championship (something like thay) after losing 2-1 in the final to Liverpool.

And that's about it, I need to play it again sometime as I want to get the 5 seasons with 1 club achievement which I could get done in about 20 hours. But is it really worth it just for 5 gamerscore? lol.

This game is so annoying and fake, I played it on the 360 yesterday and went the Gers, bought Zalayeta for £3.3M and after two games he broke his foot and is out for 4 months.

I also bought Trabelsi for £3M and after 5 games he was also out for 3 months. What a load of horse sh*t, even the PC version is worse, the amount of long rangers you concede spoils the game.

I was Portsmouth and finished 5th, anyway I played Arsenal in the league and won 4-1, week later get them in the FA Cup semi, lose 2-3 but Cambiasso scored not one, but TWO goals from 30+ yards, funny that all seaosn he scores none, plays me and bangs in two from 30 yards.

The game is fake, you play someone like reading who are bottom with NO wins yet you lose because a defender worth 12k played like Jaap Stam on drugs and got a 10, or you have 13 shots on target yet a 38 year old keeper played like Buffon, then you have someone with finishing of 12 who manages to slip three past your keeper who done well the previous game against Chelsea.

Game is one word; fake.

What makes matters worse, I don't mind the above but I can NEVER manage two consecutive seasons because the game rips you off, I mean I got in new players yet in my first game two players had a 5 while another 2 had a 4, next game was the exact same but half the team got a 5.

Now considering I never even had a 4 in the entire season and had something like 3 5's because Chelsea raped me, it's retarded how my first two matches give me nothing but 5's.

I hope FM07 is better because this game is absolute mince.

Football Manager has always been crap, there is always massive scorlines aswell. There's always at least 2 matehs in your season where there's a 7-1'er...and in real life you get one of them about once every 4 years.

Haha, no, some coaches can just work players harder. You need one's with good man management. Also, the less they do in training the less chance they have of getting injured.

But if you make them do not enough then there performance will start to drop as will there overall fitness.

Just be careful and try to get the blend right. ;)

Look for a tactic called Spit Fiyah, or just browse the forum for tactics, find a few though because after half a season or something you need to change and after a season you need to change yer entire squad else you won't win jack.

It will be hard getting coaches in your league and division, just try and get enough even if they ain't that good, just so they don't all have heavy schedules, if they do move the workload slider down to the left a bit, or make sure no training is intensive and keep only two areas on hard.

The game is all about tweaking really, you can't just get a tactic and training schedule to fit your team, you need to edit the training to suit your team, same with tactics, if they are all old players and bad stamina don't put the tempo on quick :)

The game is trial and error aswell, I don't have the patience though, just a pitty you only get 3-4 weeks pre-season when a few months would be best.

That new Training Scheduel was worked to perfection, My Squad is healthy once again, and after 4 games, only one injury.

I've not got things in control now, I know what my formation is that I'm going to build on: 4-4-2 Diamond Attack, as it brings out the best in my two star Players, Aguilar and Restrepo, now I have to give them a supporting cast, mainly better strikers, even though Agirre has been superb.

Just got back into FM06 with my newly promoted Welsh Premier side (don't ask me to spell them). My "Ultra-denfesive" tactics seem to be working. 5 games in, 2 wins, 3 draws, 0 defeats!

Ha, Ruud Van Nisterlrooy of Man Utd won the Footballer of the Year award, John Terry of Chelsea came second, and William Gallas also of Chelsea came third.

Also, Adriano of Inter won player of the Year, with Lucio of Bayern Munich in second and Ronaldinho of Barcelona in third.

RVN is sublime on the game, everytime their is a WC Holland always do very good because RVN always gets top scorer by alot.

Yup some players in this game are better then their real life counterparts.

I have a really tough decision to make, I've just been offered a Job at Club America, one of, if not thee richest Club in Mexico( Chivas may have deeper pockets, however, they don't except foreigners on the squad, only Mexicans). I want the job, but Puebla has grown on me, and I don't want to abandon the club mid way through the season.

UPDATE: I've rejected the Offer, I'm not abandoning the team in the middle of the season like that, I'm going to Promote these mo'fos and then head off.

Normally when I am 2-0 up at half time, or 3-1 up, ya know, 2 clear goals, I go for a 5-4-1 formation.

You should maybe try it.

How annoying is the goals before half/full time? I was playing Chelsea with Ajax, it was all even and then in the 41st minute Drogba scores, in the same minute Shevchenko scores, errr sure.

I end up losing 0-3 with half my team on 5 ratings even though they all had 6/7's at half time, AND they had about 2 more shots than me.

I also went Holland before that game and played Germany in a friendly, forget the fact I lost Makaay and Kuyt to injuries lasting atleast a month, but I was 2-1 and injury time went on for 4 minutes, now I only have it on highlights but oh my god, from the 90th minute to the minute they scored, it was like watching the full game, what a surprise they bang it in with 6 seconds left of full time and as soon as they done that the entire game just finished.

Somehow I get the feeling the comp wanted them to score so badly.

Anyone else find the transfers weird? I put in an offer, wait 5 days and offer the contract, and end up waiting another 5-6, now this is the funny bit.

I had 3 gash players on the transfer list and was almost in tears because it was August the 31st at 17 PM, amazingly all 3 had received bids so I accepted, ONE HOUR of game time next and they all accept the contract offer, 30 MINUTES later and the three of them sign for the other club, what a load of horse crap.

Game is a joke, I am Ajax anyway and top after 3 games with 8-1 record, lets see when the bs comes out :)

Stupid game, won 10 straight games in a row with Ajax and conceeded the 8 goals, 4 (that I know of) were 20+ yards.

In the CL against Chelsea, Milan and Standard, funny that out of 4 games, Standard have won 1 (against me 3-1) and scored the 4 goals (all 4 into me) and Rushfeldt scored the entire 4.

This comes after I beat Milan AWAY 4-3.

It's starting to annoy me when I have 21 shots and 11 on target yet score the 1, all it takes is the single shot for the CPU to score and they do it, gets on my .

Fowler scored 3 goals in a few minutes, if that happened EVERY game against you, you wouldn't mind if it happened in real life?

This is a game, it's not a realistic game so that debate doesn't work here, a game is based on stats and if someone has 8 for finishing they shouldn't be scoring goals galore, and if they have 4 long shots they shouldn't bang them in from 35 yards.

If a GK has bad stats he shouldn't be playing like Buffon in his prime, what are stats even for when they mean pretty much nothing?

The only thing good about he game as far as the AI goes, is that it works both ways, sometimes my Keeper just has a brilliant performance, nothing gets past him, The next game he concedes 3 Goals.

The only thing that I can say that their "Cheating" when it comes to the AI is how quick the respond to a goal, ridicules.

OK I've ran into a bit of a Problem here, Well it turns out that one of my players just turned 22 Yesterday, The problem of course, is that I need at least one under 21 on my team, its match day already, I can't call up a reserve since the registration window closed, so what do I do?

It's the League, but I guess the Mexican league has a rule that the player must be put on the Senior Squad before the Season begins. I called up a 20 Year old and this is what it says:

I did win 27-0 and I didn't "glitch" it Phatmuther. I am Sydney and am in the Australian league so the teams are really bad. In the first round of the Australian Cup I have to play the worst team ever, who have no goalkeeper as he was injured (I checked after the match).

My players just wouldn't stop scoring, I mean I thought I was going to win like 5-0 but no 27-0 lol.

tidus04 is evidence that I am not lieing, since I told him before the match that they were 50-1 bets on beating me. ^_^

Well its Official, I have to start the game over, I can't sign an Under 21 Player as their is not enough time for the Transfer to go through, I can't Call up a Player because according to the league rules you can't put some one in the Senior Squad after the season Starts, I can't even Resign since its match day. :@

Well I tried everything, and I was still unable to play my match, So now I've given up, I think there is no way around it and it was my fault for not keeping track of the age of my players.

I have simply resigned as Manager, and Joined another club, but I've kept a back up save just in case some one does have a solution.

If you look all the way at the bottom of the list of players, there is a greyish player with the name Tomas Sandoval, yeah well he was provided by the CPU so I could play my game since he is under 21.

Double post, lol, never mind.

Anyway, I got the patch sorted and promoted/relegated the teams so it felt a bit more up-to-date. I gave myself a challenge and started with Reading in the Premiership. I had a transfer budget of £1m, lol. I bough some random from Middlesborough reserves and got Calum Davenport on loan for the season.

1st game, coincidentially was against Middlesborough.

I was 3-0 up in 37 minutes, 2 penalties and a Leroy Lita goal. Then Viduka scored before half-time, then twice after half-time. So it was 3-3 which was unfortunate. Then in the 94th minute I had a player sent off and Quedrue scored the resulting free-kick. Harsh, but there were signs that we can stay up in there.

Also, I had my 3rd choice keeper in goal and he messed up for the 1st goal, big time!

For my Sydney FC team I had a transfer budget of 3.5 million, after gaining a bonus 2 million from being runners up agaionst Liverpool in the Club Cup Championship. Bought a few players but my highlighted player is Quizinho, who I bought for £200,000. I picked him instead of our strikers purely because of his Ronaldinho copycat nickname and I happen to be rather impressed with him, after he scored a double hatrick on his debut and scoring 3 goals in the next 3 games. ^_^

WTF!? Diego scores 3 in his last match and can't hit jack this match.

Huntelaar had 7 shots, 7 on target, has 19 finishing and 19 composure and scored nothing.

Tamerus has 13 finishing, 13 composure and scored on his FIRST shot on target.

And stats mean anything? sure they do.

Started playing it at 9 AM yesterday and finished at around 4 PM, I was shocked time flew that fast, I was staying up to watch the football but I only watched the first half, waiste of time :D

Anyone else find it annoying some teams buy good players and instantly bung them in the reserves? Man UTD paid something like £11M for Diego and put him up for loan, I got him for 5 games, I tried to buy him and put in a £6M bid which they accepted, he didn't want to join so I terminated his loan.

My game has alot of good players going for cheap, but I am Ajax and have opted for a pure Dutch team, apart from Zalayeta and Sivok. Well O'Shea and Flamini too but I want O'Shea to pack his bags and fo, I only got him because it was free.

My current game has big transfers, Zlatant to Barcelona for £30M, Crouch to Arsenal for £16M, Robinho to Liverpool for £20M I think and also Owen joined for £7M or something like that.

Chelsea ripped apart the league in the first season only losing one game, they got Ronaldo who bangs them in with Shevchenko.

That Diarra joins Madrid in real life for alot of cash and on my game he went to Lille for £4M :D

Oh man I cannot Believe this! The Match went into Penalty kicks, At the End of extra Time, It prompted me to Select the players that would take them, However, Since it didn't say I couldn't put guys in the lineup that weren't playing in the match, I put my subs in. Guess what Happened? It replaced the players who weren't playing in the game with the ones who were!

Basically, It's like not playing Zidane because he was tired, So, You play the match, it goes to Penalties, You put him in to take the shot, since the CPU allowed it, you think its going to be Zidane taking it right? WRONG freaking Beckham steps up and of course misses.
