Just downloaded this game and I'm having a hell of a lot of fun with it. Holy hell at it's difficulty though! Some of the people at the top of the leaderboards currently are putting my 46,930 point score to shame!

At the time of me posting this, someone has already gotten 234,800! :|

EDIT:

In terms of high score this game looks to be pretty hard, but you can actually start off the game at the highest level you were at, so the achievements are actually quite easy. (:/)

You a ship that starts in the middle of the screen. At the bottom of the screen is the floor of a planet. When you keep flying left or right you fly all around that planet and come back to where you were. The bad guys will try to shoot you and steal your men which are little people in the ground. You have to shoot the ships if they have one of your men and safely pick up your man before he hits the ground.

You can't compare the two really, Defender is awesome, no doubt, but Galaga requires tons of strategy as well, almost two different games, yet very similar.

lol no i just crawled thru teh levels! You do know you can start from the last level you got to! And there all pretty easy realy! Once you get to level 31 you hve all achievements apart from challenging stage one

Instead of start game go down at it will have start game at level <number> and then you just select it!

i believe you let one of those things suck you up in their ray, then when you get a new ship you blow up the ship that just sucked you up and you should get it

Hmm, I'm sure I did that just there, and it didn't give me it.

Actually, no, i think I got killed by the ship that captured it, and then it gave me my ship back, so it technically didn't form a dual fighter.

Ok, I'll get this one next time I'm on.

I cannot get the Dual Fighter or the other one worth 5GS, not a tin of glue how you do them.

1 problem I have with this game is that the firing is not as qucik as on the arcade's, therefore making the challenging stages really really hard. I have cleared the 1st chellanging stage on arcade once before, but that was when it fires more bullets at the sme time, this achievement will be hard.

Loving the game, though. And I have the top score. :p :cool:

Don't attack the Purple Guy Until he comes back down to attack you, or else it won't work.

Killer, thank you, and Thornbag, you were right.

I just got both my Dual Fighter AND Perfect Challenge Stage achievements.

Killer was right about only being able to attack the thing when it was attacking you to form a Dual Fighter, which I did, and got the achievement. And then, next up was the Challenge Stage, which was insanely easy with the Dual Fighter as well, so yeah, Thornbag, that's the way to do it.

Start off at Stage 2, get captured at some point in that stage, and then you'll breeze Stage 3 (Challenge Stage).

Oh, and Thornbag, I didn't beat your score. It was going great, and I got to about 45,000, then I lost my dual ship when someone crashed into it, and then I finally died with my other one at 58,000. :(

I increased my top score to 81,000 earlier this morning...:cool: I was on fire. I found it is better to get "sucked up" to form a dual fighter and lose a life, with the dual fighters you get bags of points.

I always seem to miss 1 or 2 on the challenge stage though with Dual Fighter's lol. I will get eventually.

For me this game isn't about achievemtns though, it's just pure fun. :D

I'm gonna try and beat your score, using the Dual Fighters, because as you said they're much better for killing stuff.

Easiest Challenge Stage to complete is the first one, so if you can get sucked up on Stage 2 and then defeat Challenge Stage 3 you should be able to get the achievement. I got it first time. Fair enough if you don't care about it. :D
