I would post a picture but currently my Digital Camera is in someone else's possesion, So i'll try to explain it best I can.

Basically my LCD TV it's probably about 1year and half old, and a small black very thin line appeared and now it seems to be getting bigger but it's in the worst spot right in the centre of the screen a the moment it probably covers about 1/3 the width of the TV(27" TV).

What is it?
Is it fixable?
Is it worth fixing?
What will happen if I don't fix it?

Not that I know of... It's only a guess but I expect when it hits the side of the screen is when it will get even worse. I suppose I will have to wait and see it out.

As at the moment I can't afford to get either it repaired or replaced, oh well!

Sorry it covers a 1/3 of the screen width wise....it's about 1-2mm thick

It's also dead in the centre.

my old tv did that then it started to smoke and the tv went to a thin white line. i don't think if it can bee fixed. i put mine outside and hit it with a sludge hammer
