X-Box 360 or PS3?!?

You tell me?! I have had an on going debate with my friend about the +'s and -'s of both consoles and perks. Although the PS3 hasnt been released yet rumours suggest that the PS3 will be a considerably lot better. Personally i am unsure but i am getting a 360 next friday on my birthday ( The Big 16!! WHOO!!). So if you have any information about the difference and similarities between the consoles then please reply.

Wise words mate. PS3 isnt out yet. I have no doubt it will be great, but I like my 360 so im staying with that. Might look at the Wii, too, as I cant not play the latest Nintendo games!(Y)

The PS3 is gonna be an overpriced, built-by-board-of-directors piece of Blu-Ray crud forced down your throat by a bloated, slow-moving Sony- who has a history of losing format wars- powered by an overhyped, overcomplicated travesty of a processor in an attempt to somehow create enough streetlevel buzz to warrent putting a brand-name CPU in every other appliance they sell, in a misguided effort to get back to the glory days of Trinitron tv sets.

True the PS3 isn't out yet, but $600? It can't be that much better then the 360, if at all, and it also doesn't have vibration. We might be looking at $80 for games too since they're on Blu-Ray..

And most importantly, it doesn't have GS points!!

fair enough it isnt out yet, but surely basing on the playstation 2 it is going to be impressive! The Original Xbox was avergage. I have had my PS2 since 2000 and i love it! then 2 years ago i purchased an Xbox and i thought the graphics were similar but the games were poor. So.. i prefer the ps2 but now the big boys have neen released i am JUST wondering if anybody knows the similarities and differences. But obvously not. Also i would like to add that the PS games are better and i am glad the Xbox 360 will be realeasing these titles that i oneced love!!!

Gizmodo is a gadget review site, which has absolutely nothing to do with the device known as the Gizmondo. :)

And the facts posted on there have been mentioned in other articles anyway. It doesn't make them any less appalling for Sony. Good luck getting a PS3, those of you that want one, becuase only 20% of you are going to get a working one. :D

grafically the ps3 is hardly better, u wont be able to notice the diffrence if there is one.. even though the stats for the ps3 are slighlty better its harder to desgh games runing at full capacity on the ps3 graphics card, were your extra money goes is to other bits n bobs..

Just judging by the specs, it can't be all that much better. We won't know till it's out.. but whatever difference there is won't be obvious for at least a year or two. By then it'll hopefully be cheaper.

Saying that tho the copy of Halo I have for my Mac runs worse than my Xbox version. And my Mac is much more powerful than an Xbox. Depends sometimes how well the bits inside a machine are suited to running games.
I have heard that devs favour Xbox 360's setup for creating games on than PS3's.

Yeah, I'd imagine it'd take forever to use even a a nice chunk of a Blu-Ray disc let alone all of it [Too early for Blu-Ray!!]. It's obvious from Oblivion that you can fit just about anything on a plain DVD so I really don't know the point of having bigger discs this early... Dev is just plain harder on the PS3 too I think.

Pfffft now we know you must be loaded. A decent Alienware PC does not come cheap. IMO I wouldnt buy a Alienware PC and for the same price you can make a better spec PC. That;s what I did in the end.

There laptops are sweet though and I would love one :)

Nah just kidding. Take a look at MESH Computers for a decent PC. They all come with a monitor included and much better specs than Alienware for the price. They also have a killer warranty.

I am changing my mind i am getting a customised one from dell i know someone who can get 30 % discount and btw i am not loaded i have been working my ass off 5 days a week 10 hrs a day for money for college and have been saving. thats why i have not been posting much of late. and 360 games cost like 80 yoyos here.

Yeah, just build yourself a custom PC. It'll be a lot cheaper and you can get exactly what you want. If you're not into that though.. Dell ones are pretty nice and if you get a 30% discount.. wow.

but dell are good anyway you just have to upgrade to 3.2ghz and pay more for 512mb graphics and if you payout i think its 200 more you can get a tetrabyte in memory so no fears of running out of mem

Either build your own or order one from a builder like Javi Computers (http://ravishi.com/). If you've never built one and aren't totally sure how to I wouldn't try unless you use cheap parts. I suggest Javi to build one because they give great deals, $650 for an 3.4 ghz sli-ready computer with a 7600GS video card! You also get to choose your case from like 30 and you can have them put whatever you want in..
