I, well my american football team, will be running the Sport Relief mile on the 23rd of July and we are trying to scrape together a few sponsorship. As i don't really leave my home for anything other than work, matches and training sessions, i thought asking online would be better than facing the idea of having an actual conversation with someone. We are hoping to raise the minimal sum of £50, we have set up an online sponsorship thingy https://secure.artezglobal.com/registrant/personalPage.aspx?EventID=3285&LangPref=en-CA&RegistrationID=107536 and all you have to do is type in your details, pretty simple.

Now to help you reach for your wallets, we will be running the mile in full gear, helmets shoulders the works, around our home field. 5 laps of which makes one full mile. I play on the o-line anyone who knows American Football will know how much a lineman despises the term exercise. So if you want this fatboy to jiggle his way round a mile please help us raise the £50 for a good cause.

Thanks in Advance, Chris aka iEaTcHiLdReN

hmmm. Now there’s nothing wrong with giving money to charity but I am slightly concerned about this thread. Shouldn't you be asking friends/family/neighbours for money?

Well he did give a reason for it;

IEC'], i thought asking online would be better than facing the idea of having an actual conversation with someone.

I have heard of this Tobez, read about it in another Forum.

You heard about the sport relief mile? Yeh I have as well. My little 11 year old sister is doing it. She asked my family and her friends to sponsor her.

Tobez, There is nothing wrong with it mate.

If it was simply advertising a website, or a "give us money" scheme, we'd have something to say about it - but seen as it's for charity we'll leave it open! :)

I hope you get the cash you need mate.
