I reckon it was of course Joe Cole:geek:

I made a special version of his goal for YouTube. Would appreciate anyone giving it a high rating on the YouTube.

Watch the best World Cup goal 2006 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXeiwAN-3q0)

Its one of the Questions in my World Cup Awards, so vote for it by going in the WC Thread, you will see my Post (Y)

The Video was cool, its too bad I don't have a YouTube Account so I can't vote.

But I disagree, I felt that goal was more on the Goal Keeper if anything, for me it has to be Maxi Rodriguez goal against Mexico, Brilliant Goal.

I feel that Joes was a better goal as Joe was further out than the Mexicanny. And the fact the keeper got a hand to it means it was so well hit that he still couldn't stop the shot. If you look at Maxi's goal you will see the keeper slightly too far to the right post leaving the top left for Maxi to fill in. In comparrison with Joes where you can see the keeper bang in the middle!

Anyway each to their own. Joes will always be for me the best goal of the WC2006. :)

Joe Coles was a first half goal in a Group Stage match, Maxi's was an Extra Time goal in the Group of Sixteen, enough said.

This is not the most needed goal of the WC2006 is it? It's the best goal. So Maxi Mexicanny man's just doesn't quite take the top spot.

The goal they picked was e, I mean 25 passes yet 20 of them were made under no pressure at all, AND they barely made 25 passes going forward did they?

Cole's was a beauty in my eyes, outside of the boot and swung in the top corner, don't forget the keeper was over 6ft tall so it was hardly an easy goal to score, it was either this or Maxi's which was amazing too but Cole edges it.

I have a feeling that the fact that Joe Cole plays for England has something to do with this.

Nope, just aware of the Bias that plagues every sport.

Well I am Scottish and I despise the English team AND fans so I don't think I am biased, and no offence but you think Borgetti is the best in the world just because you like him, how isn't this biased?

Obviously sports are biased, do you want Alan Shearer to sit on match of the day and say England will get shagged from Portugal? do you think an American referee will be neutral if USA played Brazil in the WC final?

I said he was my favorite player, I never said he was the best in the World. When I say biased, In the Context I used it in I was referring to a Fans biased, who, in this situation, would take the player from their country over another, even though the other is better.

I don't think there are any Americaaan reffs left. The last one was banned after calling "time out" and phoning in an order of burgers & fries for him and the teams. :)

Yes American refs are crap, Mexicans are the best (See: Italy Vs Germany)

Completely agree, which is why I despise the English fans because they think England are the best when they clearly ain't, and I despise the England team because they are without doubt boring as feck to watch and just suck.

But then again, are they biased? I mean, the Cole goal was easily in the top 2 and it's not hard to see why people would pick that as goal of the tournament, but as I said because an Englishmen picks this does that make them biased?

Anyway sports are a joke in more ways than one so I hardly think biased fans make a difference :geek:

Maxi's goal was the better one, like killer said, it was in the last sixteen in extra time which made it special

Maxis Goal for me. It was just the sheer excitement of the gaming being so good and then a player gets crossed a ball chests it up perficlky and then hits the ball so sweet he probably couldnt have made it any better and the it rifels into the top of the net.

Your just saying that cause he is English, Joe Cole's goal wouldn't even get into my top 5.

Top 5:
1) Maxi Rodriguez (Argentina vs Mexico) (By far)
2) Torsten Frings (Germany vs Costa Rica)
3) Philipp Lahm (Germany vs Costa Rica)
4) Esteban Cambiasso (Argentina vs Serbia)
5) Deco (Portugal vs Iran)

Hahahaha you guys are funny, like it's easy to chest the ball, hit it with the outside of your foot from about 25-30 yards AND beat a goalkeeper who is over 6 foot tall, but yeah I agree, e goal!

Cambiasso's goal was incredible, I mean 25 passes with LITTLE to NO pressure and a e finish too, yes fantastic goal huh?

Any player from any team could have scored Joe Cole's goal. It's all about getting the right connection on the ball.

Not many other teams could have scored Cambiasso's because it involves a hell of a lot more than just one player taking a pot shot from distance.

Ok im english and ofcoarse im going to say joe cole !Argentina are a very good side but before the maxi rodriguez goal the guy was cheating like hell diving all over the place plus mexico were the better side ,that was the best game of the world cup for me.The best goal outside of joe cole for me was the fernando torres goal for spain against ukraine,it was brilliantly set up .
