If I get one, turn it on and start to play games that resemble the likes of the E3 KillZone and MotorStorm videos, then chances are a big fat YES. Price will have to be right and of course games which no doubt it will have. But im hearing developers not favouring the PS3 platform but sounds like dejavous all over again when the PS2 was launching with its so called Emotion Engine and developers coming out with the same tails.
Jurys still out till next year for me. I think everyones still waiting for playable content and I wouldnt be too supprised if they drop something during the 360 Launch this year... I hope its a controller redesign :P

Its depends if the Xbox 360 jumps out at me.
So far the system hasn't so my money is on the PS3 or Revolution till prooved otherwise.

It all depends on how much I like the 360 and if I need another console for games. The 360 will do everything in terms of being a media centre though so no need for a PS3 in terms of that :)
I think i said this to Steve on MSN, the only way i'll get an Xbox 360 is if PES comes out on it. Otherwise, it's the PS3 for me!

The X360 definately has the upper hand with Microsoft's software integrations. Some of the exclusives like Gears of War and PD0 look incredible, and to be honest the PS3 will not have near the online capabilities of the second generation Live. Backwards compatibility as Thornbag said is also a huge reason to get the X360... I would of course get both but my moneybag isn't really up to it.

Well... not sure if the PS3 will be compatible with older PS1 games, if so that would probably make it superior, but why would you say the Revolution would have the best in terms of backwards compatibility? I am guessing you get the Cube's games only, so what's the catch? Depends on what games you would consider to be worthwhile to be able to play on the new system I suppose.

ATI + X360 all the way ! nVidia I just can't stand for some reason... maybe because ATI is sort of the underdog, and that they are Canadian at the same time and have better drivers.

Not entirely correct:
Nintendo announced at E3 2005 that Revolution would be able to go online wirelessly and download classic Nintendo games. Nintendo has not yet announced what titles will be available for download. However, it has confirmed that Revolution owners could theoretically download every NES, Super-NES and Nintendo 64 game ever made. The publisher is reportedly already working with third party publisher to ensure that popular third party games are also available to download.

Its the coolest idea, not suprisingly coming from Nintendo.

The only game I'd consider downloading is Secret of Mana, but I have it on the PC anyway ;)

The deciding factor with the revolution and there history of titles is how much there going to charge you for those oldie but goodie downloads. I can see them offering some kind of deal where you pay X amount and have the ability to get so many titles in one go or over a period.
Will be interesting to see how they do it and how many of the titles are up for grabs, such as whether there just nintendo titles or third parties titles of that era too.

Yes, I get it now with the downloading of the old games... but even if you can download classics, is it really something you would be spending much time playing? I can see some games being cool for that, but you can also go out to a garage sale or your basement and pull out the old console for probably cheaper and play as well. It wouldn't really be a deciding factor to get a Revolution, because the games are so much different from the Xbox and PS.
It is a nice little bonus if you are into the Nintendo stuff, but if you aren't, it shouldn't make a difference in the world ;)

Actually PS3 has no nex-gen technology implemented yet...lol
All they care about are graphics....and look at GTA...looks like freaking squared up images to me

Hell yeah Im getting one the PS2 is all but dead it has had its time now it must move on and take its place as a reserve console for when there are kids in the house or you do something to the PS3 I have waited a long time like everyone else so I hope it aint £500 near £300 will be a good price lets just all hope *crosses fingers*

I've always been a fan of Sony since the ps1.
Then when I really got more into videogames I realized they really didn't have any games I liked .
To me, I think the PS3 looks cool, but the price tag seems like it will be too much and the games just aren't what I want.
The only game I can imagine me wanting on the PS3 is The Getaway.
Anyways, I doubt I will be getting a PS3, lol.
I'll definetly be picking up a PS3, but i'll almost definetly (99%) be picking up an x-box 360. If I save up from work, I should be sorted.

Wow.
PS3 is for sure going to be pretty sick. Sont hasnt shown to much and is waiting for the 360 launch to wipe out all the cool stuff. I think knowing sony's domiance in the market i think the price wont be that bad and be pretty powerful. The 360 is showing some pretty cool stuff. If I can ill try and buy both oterhwise i'm going to wait. AS far as the devolpers go rollercoasterrider, sony wil have no trouble getting 3rd party support. In the end the nextgen race is looking sick garentting us gamers the best possibel system and games out there.

It's going to be expensive. Sony confirmed that. They want you to work more hours to afford it. That's their exact words.
Also a bunch of developers are saying the 360 is easier to develop for, meaning that the 360 might get a large backwash of would be PS3 developers.

Wow. That is all wrong.
The 360 is anything but close to this current gen. It's on about the same level power wise as the PS3. The PS3 just has so much technology crammed together it's hard to develop for. As well, Sony is putting a lot of restrictions and requirements on developers.
Next time try to incorporate facts into your argument.

I think that the PS3 won't come close to beating xbox 360 as it's a much better console overall compared to the PS3 and xbox live will still be much better than the crappy PS2 online service.

I'm still waiting for Sony to really WOW me with something Awesome! If so, then I'll have to see how much I'll be earning when the PS3 comes out to see if I can afford it...at the moment it looks doubtful seeing as how Sony hasn't really impressed me yet...

President of Enterbrain, Hirokazu Hamamura, also said: “We are unlikely to see games exhibiting a level only PS3 can achieve until the end of 2007,” due to the (alleged) fact that “PS3 dev tools have only just started shipping to developers this month, while 360 tools were shipped last summer."
That's one of the reasons why I chose "Hell, no!". Although I wouldn't mind trying it out if any of my friends bought the thing.

I'm sure they've learned their lesson and will make it stronger this time......although, didn't the PS2 have more people online than the Xbox ?

I think that even if sony makes an online service it still going to be inferior to xbox live and in order to create and maintain an online service it cost money so they will most likely charge a fee, I wouldint want to pay for something unproven.

Didn't Nintendo say last month that they were going to drop all licenses, allowing people to download all the roms and sell all the modded snes they want? :unsure:

When I joined I was really excited about the XBOX 360.
But after I found out I wasn't going to get one untill Feb I was anoyed, when I heard there were problems with the 360 I was dissapointed.
So i'm more looking for info on the PS3 atm.
I'll stick around here tho, I will get an XBOX, because the online play blows PS3's online play away.
I'm just going to wait for the price to drop (And hopefully let Microsoft fix any bugs) :)

I think it's going to be a simultaneous worldwide launch in late 2006, because there's going to be a massive unvieling at E3 2006, and Nintendo have said they're not going to fall too far behind Sony in terms of launch dates.
Obviously the simultaneous worldwide launch is a rumour, but I think it's one that could well be lived up to, because they really don't want to have to wait until March before launching, something which has happened before and didn't go down well.
