As this is one of my favourite anticipated 360 releases I wondered if we could share any info on it here (I couldnt find another thread)

I also wish that MS would allow for a patch to play PSO on the backwards compatability feature.

What's the relase date of PSU and who's planning on getting it?

I'm -thinking- about getting it. It has been a while since I've been able to tweak around in an MMO. But, I'm wanna see how they handle the multiplatform aspect of it. FFXI, from what I've been told, didn't turn out so well in this and a dozen other areas.

I'm a big fan of this game. So much a fan that i occasionally put up a PSO background on the PowerBook. I used to play the dreamcast version. And the other week hooked it all up and managed to get onto PSO with my dreamcast for the first time in about 4 years. There were still people playing. I was shocked but also really happy it was still alive.

So saying that. I've been following the PSU on 360 story pretty carefully. I noticed there seems to be no media of the game on 360. All the videos and screens seem to be of the PC version or PS2. I'm worried that we will just get a PC port of the game. Considering the power of the 360 I would expect an extra version with improved visuals.

I'm also worried that we will be having to pay to play this online. That's what stopped me from playing on the xbox version. If I'm paying for Live then I should be able to play this online free of any charge.
If they do end up charging us to play online. They better make it cheap!

Anyway I can't wait till it's released. I'm getting excited just talking about it. :)

It'll definitely be a port. Few multiplatform games ever have graphic differences beyond resolution. But when the PC is one of those platforms, it's just not gonna happen. Particularly when it comes to multithreading with the 360, and eventually the PS3. Since it's a multiplatform MMO, it's definitely gonna be a direct port. But the PC is so scaleable, and a top-of-the line PC looks so good- a PC port would be prime.

I played Part 1 and 2 on the DC, loved them both so much (I have a PSO wallpaper on my 360 and PC from time to time) I loved the soundtrack (on my ipod) and Loved the xbox version, personally i'd be happy with being able to play that on backwards compatable

Yes I believe there was a 'hunters fee'...

It's annoying, but i'd pay it right now for a game of that calibre.

I think it'd be safe to assume that every MMO on the 360 will cost an additional fee.

The screenshots of the PC game may look like crap, but perhaps they aren't high def. That means the lines will be sharper, but the lighting and models and coloring will be the same.

You could get away with not paying the Hunters Fee but it was offline play online. PSO and PSU are nice looking but its more the gameplay, community and big fat guns that I like!

I cannot wait for this game! Me and 3 friends huddled around the Gamecube in split screen was ace! The original DC version, ,I had some fun on there online :D

Some good memories for PSO. Me and my Bro played it for hours. Also some bad memories of item dupers, hackers and lending my Agito Katana to a friend and then they logged out...never to be seen :(

Yeah, the hackers did ruin it...here's hoping LIVE puts a stop to that. I didn't play the XBOX version on Live, were there any problems?

Other than having to pay for it, it seemed fine to me. Did not play it much since I was playing WoW too much at the time *laughs* PSO mixed the collecting and combat of Diablo, just hacking things up collecting loot and running off to find more. Loved the mag making :)
