played it last night, the hounds look nice :cool:
everything else looks alright, trees can llok a bit flat

aiming on it is Sh*t
really slow to get around especially if you go the wrong way and have to go back, takes ages.
ran out of petrol at one point, couldnt do any but self destruct (Y) helpful

id give the demo 7/10

Anyone else leave the demo feeling a little empty? I have a feeling this game will be like BF2 were the main reason for buying the game will be for its multiplayer and not the singleplayer

Also the graphics, based on the scale of the levels graphic detail could have easily been notched up to near almost that intros quality. I almost spat my tea out when I saw the graphic quality of the Sniper level, then I went to check that I wasnt playing this on an original Xbox.

All that is understandable if the maps will cater for 32+ players but its only 16 or so isnt it? Ah well, fingers crossed the final release is better improved with some nice rapid weapons. Sniper rifle reload was a tad frustrating, having to track the target for 30secs till the next reload. Im sure upgraded weapons will be better, would have been nice to have that in the demo to give players an idea of what is possible in the game.

I have been looking forward to Chrome Hounds for a while now. I am always careful on demos but I did notice that the levels do look a little empty. Nice footprints and shells ejecting. Detail on mechs looks pretty good not too sure about terrain detail.

Maybe some of the city based maps with be more interesting. I think its the mech building that will be the fun part but hopefully that means that some of the multiplayer maps are a bit more detailed.

The only reason to do the singleplayer is to get the parts to play multiplayer. Demo being a demo I am sure there are thigs they can change and update in time. New maps, parts and maybe a few tweaks but since it is out next week this is pretty much the version we get. I will hold my views until full version is out and I get to playtest it a bit more.

I quite liked it...not brilliant but I could enjoy it.

I doubt it will beat the original Gun Griffon (will anything? I doubt it) but could still be fun.

had a quick go at sniper this morning b4 setting off to work, fired my first shot , missed , went to fire second shot ,wondered wtf , reload time is crap , nice mech design , hope multiplayer is better than single player ( is it me or do more developers seem to be forgetting that there is still a single player market out there) ill still buy it as i love mech games :)

I have just played the demo. And to be quite honest I nearly fell asleep playing it. The graphics on the mech are ok. But the maps are bland and really quite boring.
Ok I'll start with the sound. The music is lifted from an 8 bit Master System game I swear to god, It's laughable. I found that the aiming was broken when I tried to blast anything up-close. Then when you do go to shoot anything there seems to be no satisfying "Yess I got him!" feeling.
I liked the explosions, zoom blur and the water effects but apart from that there seems to be no push for realism. For example - Buildings fall down and vanish! People shooting at you on the ground just stand there waiting for you to step on them. And even when you do step on them i saw no blood.
I'm a huge SEGA fan but I went away from this demo yawning. Overall very slow and boring, stay away. :(

Its a shame the demo didnt feature any online aspects, as MP is the reason most people would have picked up this title.

If you look at the demo when you choose your mech, it gives you the idea of what you need to build your mech and the different parts. I think its the building part I am looking forward to most.

well ive just tryed itand ive been playing mech warriorgames since the first 1 and i havetosay its very similar but its a lot slower and slowing mech warriordown isnotwhat youwanttodo it makes theaction not very slow.

So have you played the MP? I haven't as it wasn't inlcuded in the demo. If it's the strongest part to the game then they should have made an online demo like BF2 and Quake4.. Anyway because of the demo I'm not bothered about this game full stop. I doubt I'm the only one.(:/)
