As for Stevioe Gerrard, no, I d not think he is 100%, he probably knows himself he is not 100%, but he is the sort of player that who wil get an injury, just just has thewill to carry on, and will do so until he is physically unable, which is great for Enlgand.

Sweden played an alright game, I think Paraguay has it in them to beat Sweden.

Not on today's performance.

Paraguay should take them on Wednesday. They'll have come out of the England game with a bit of confidence as they played much better in the 2nd half, and Sweden will be demoralised about that T&T result.

IF England goes down to Sweden, and Paraguay win the rest of their games by a good margin, we could very well see a Germany Vs England the next round.

It's difficult to tell at this point how Germany will do.

They were very good going forward against Costa Rica, but a team who is better in defense (which Ecuador clearly showed they are) could pose Germany a lot of problems.

So yeah, I think Ecuador will beat Germany, but Germany will beat Poland and go through.

I didn't actually predict it in my Official Prediction thingy, I don't think (I think I went for a draw), but I've changed my prediction now that I've seen both teams play once.

Germany looked awful at the back, and a team who can play well on the counter attack with solid defending (Ecuador, basically) should probably deal with them.

Why Sven hasn't been assasionated yet is beyond me, as his tactical decisions are diabolical. England really were poor in the second half, however we did get the win so lets keep our heads raised and beat T&T next match. :D

A poor performance overall (average in 1st half and dire in the 2nd half) by England but they got the job done. Joe Cole played well I thought. Valdez and Cuevas caused problems in the second half but apart from that Paraguay weren't particularly good either.

Saw highlights of Sweden Vs Trinidad & Tobago and Shaka Hislop was awesome he saved loads. Not the best attacking play up front by Sweden at times either. It looks like England could turn them over.

Possibly. Did you see that strike from the T&T player (his name escapes me) who hit the crossbar from that tight angle? he almost pulled off an upset against Sweden but was unlucky. T&T are no pushovers by any means and England could be in for a surprise.

Yeah that was soo close, The match gave them a big Moral Boost, while England had a disappointing game, sure they won, but they didn't even score!

I don't think that the ball would have gone in if it wasn't for Gamarra's header though. The commentators thought it would have though. The referee was a bit harsh towards Gerrard I thought but Crouch should have known that dissent would have got him booked. Referee was a secret Paraguayan fan I think! ;)

Stop moaning at Sven. If you played silky football with Paraguay and game out with a draw you would have said he needed more defensive duties. Yes it was a shocking second half but England really didnt need to do much.

Well...England were shocking in the 2nd half yesterday, but we played really well in the 1st. I thought it should have been Beckha's goal as it was on target, tbh.

I don't really care if we played crap, we got the 3 points and that's all the matters. Plus, we are still adjusting to the weather. (Y)

Average performance from a good team. But then sometimes you need the luck to win things. Next game is around 6/7pm (germany time) so the temp should of settled down by then. We should see a better game then.
