Mate I got an email from game telling me that unless you ordered the advanced pack on the first day you have got no chance. They still have loads of the core systems though. I can imagine the q's are gonna be a nightmare on release night :)

Doesn't it work out that if you want the basic and then want to buy other stuff it comes out to more than the advanced?

If you dont have the cash to spend on the premier bundle, you can buy a core bundle and get memory card. That will allow you to save stuff. Over time, you can buy the other accessories.

I remember I bought my Nintendo 64 for $200CDN which is probably a couple of pounds ;)

Prices usually always drop. In 8 years time you'll probably be able to pick the Xbox 360 brand new for about £50.

Also take into account of inflation since the days of SNES and Mega Drive.

Usually its 2 years and the price drops in half, maybe three years.

Or you just re-release the system smaller and sexier....*shakes head at Sony*

Judging by what I heard, the current next gen will be around for the next 10 years. PS2-PS3 is what, 6 years?

The fact that most games on Xbox 360 will come with downloadable content will be good, as once you complete the game, you can download more maps/levels/characters etc, and as for stuff like Final Fantasy, seems like the game will never end.

The only problem from a financial stand point is that you have to get paid. You can't just update a game for 10 years and get no financial return on it. Then again the downloads could cost money or of course the Xbox Live fee (by the way how will that work?).

And yeah the PS2 was 6 years. I remember on October...25th maybe 2000 I went to go pick mine up on pre-order. And its still alive! I know about 3 people who have went through one PS2 with it ----ing up.

I went through 3, DVD's ruin the thing. My brother left my PS2 on overnight with a DVD playing the menu screen all night. Stuck a game in the tray next morning and wouldnt read it, wouldnt read anything after that.

But this will not be an Xbox site constantly slagging off the PS3, thats for sure.

You can play every Nintendo game ever on it. Plus its proven that Nintendo makes the most innovative games. The Kiddy characters are there because thats what platform games are, but then again its personal choice.
