*start of rant* Lately it doesn't matter which thread I view or paticipate in you always see posts with *'s in them. There are far too many offensive words being used thats why they are being *'d out. Most of us can work out wht is being said but come on guys there is no need for it is there? Guests on the site may be put off joining as well. Also in the real world yes I do swear before anyone says it! All I want is a * free forum (Y)
*end of rant*

I * to create an effect if you get me. I van see your point and I can hold my hand up and say perhaps a little to much from me but I doubt we will get a * free forum.
But since its for you DC I will cut down on it.:D

I don't swear on here. I did this monring because I was annoyed at ConneX (you'll see why)...but you won't find another post on here were I swear. I am liek you though...I do in real life but I don't want to come on here and see a load of *'s. TBH, I was going to create exactly the same thread as I got annoyed with it and there is no need whatsoever for it!!
Plus the forum rules state that you shouldn't swear, and it isn't allowed so come on, let's dry and cut it out. :)

I don't swear, well I do * words but I don't actually feel they are swear words. I mean the word w h o r e is offensive, but when I am saying I am a gamerscore w h o r e I do think it shouldn't be *'d out.
But yeah, I will think of different word to use from now on. :)

I don't think it offends him (the person who created the thread who I've forgott of already >_<), I believe it angers him as he believes it leaves a negative impact on the community, and he is right in thinknig that. :)

ill stick my hand up and say im the cause of a lot of the swearing

..Uh. Heh. Ok.
Asterisks anger you guys?
I really think you guys are reading too much into this. It reflects on the person, not the community. I mean.. why isn't there the same reaction about bad grammar and spelling? I consider these three things- cursing, spelling, grammar- to be comparable.

In my opinion it reflects on the community. I go to a messageboard and if I see lots of *'d out words it leaves a negative response for me, just like it does for many other people.

And this response doesn't discern between the poster and the community as a whole?

As I see it, it reflects on the forum if deemed acceptable by staff/admin......here it isn't, so it reflects on the individuals.
Whether a new person looking takes the time to see this too is another matter.
Personally, I don't think there's much 'swearing' on here.

From now on, any swearing will NOT have any *'s and will be just be blank.
This will stop any kiddies guessing what is said and it will also mean your post will not make as much sense and force you to NOT use any profanity at all - we hope.
Cheers

(Y) This will be a welcome change and will make some posts very interesting to read I'm sure. A profanity free monster who would have thought it eh? Have I actually created a thread where someone has listened then? ;) its usually just the voices in my head that listen.................

ing LOL!!!

That's right, you shouldn't need to go out of your way to put * in a post. It's kinda bad if you cant express feelings etc in a more mature manner in respect for other younger readers.
