I really do hope the US goes far in the world cup, its sad because our teams usually dominate in almost all sports besides the World's favorite sport. Well in reality, because America's love for american football is dragging it at the number 1 spot its the second favorite but minus American football fans, european football (YES NOT JUST "football") would be one.

On a serious note, does anyone really thing England will do any good in the World Cup? Good enough to win it?
Also why do Some Irish, Welsh and Scots say they hope England do crap, I'd prefer England to win it than anyone else. I think it would be better for any of the nations of the UK and the Republic to win it instead of any other team. (Granted England are the only ones in it this year)

Some people say it because we are jealous of the English team which is utter rubbish. If I was to be jealous of a team it would be Brazil look how many tournaments they've won! I hate the way when I watch an England match that within the first few minutes they mention 1966 and the 1 and only tournament you have ever won. That was 40 years ago and they still mention it to death! I am a neutral unless it is a Wales match I'm not anti-english although you aren't going to win it :p IMO Brazil will!

nope, i think we wont, we'll probably get knocked out really early, but everyone will just blame sven or the fact that rooneys not playing, not the fact that we're just not good enough at the moment

I'm an Ireland fan, although I can't help but laugh at the way the media react to the World Cup its always Englands year, I agree they won it once and won't let it go.
I still hope they do well, its better than Brazil winning anyway. Although saying that you will hear about it for the next 40 years if they do.

Lol...I think there is only soem real optimistic people that actually think we might win it. I know we don't stand a chance, and the media, well, they are all just interfeering faggits really. Who do not make any of the England squad or coach's job easier, if anything they just load a lot of unwanted pressure onto them. I personally like Sven GE, if you look at his record it is fantastic, so what if he bums a couple of players (Beckham, Hargreaves), if it wins us matches im happy. The media are a joke.
As for 1966, well, lol. That is really pathetic...im about as sick as hearing about that asI am hearing about Wayne Rooney's bloody foot, it is sooo boring and knowone actually cares!
But, about the surroundgin countrie's supporting England thnig, I would support any odf them (Wales, Scotland, N.Ireland, RoI) if they got further than England, I would want them to go all the way tbh. But I think it all boils down to the size of our conuntry, thus been able to get a wider range of talent etc. I think it's harsh though that the surroundgin countrie's to England get compared to us, when in reality, we should be better than them anyway. :s

I still hate that tackle from Keane that ended Haaland's career. I will never forgive him for that - I liked Alfie Halland and was a fairly decent player.
