Did anyone see the article in the News of the World Sunday gone? 360 vs PS3?

It was saying that after the PS3 lauch, the 360 will have the upperhand what with it's games, which is pretty much what most people buy their console's for, I now i do. Halo3:Forerunner, TDU, Gears of War vs Gran Turismo 99, Tekken 64 and Solid, Liqud, Frozen, Melted Snake.

It also compared the sony 'core system' that come with 20gb, but no HDMI, no card reader or WiFi, that the other 'premium' package does, therefore not upgradable! Come on Sony!, if u are going to do it, then do it properly.

But most of all.........Bring it on!!!

I would not be surprised to see PS3 win this round too, to be honest. It has more raw power (once developers geta handle on it). The discs have great capacity (far far far greater cap) Also, it is Sony, people will buy it just cause it is a playstation, although i see it needing to make a surge at the begining of year 2, with a price drop.

Also, the main genres will be covered. Killzone, MGS4, GT4, GTA will satisfy most gamers. The 360, in the end, won't offer that much more (pretty much only Halo cause PGR is easily matched by GT4)

Common thought is microsoft leads a market by version 3 - so we have one more version to wait for.

I know i will be hoping to get a PS3, but i know it will not be on launch day.

Well, you hit the nail on the head, 'once developers can harness it'. Few will. Fewer will get it pumping better than the 360.

The greater capacity won't be filled, with very few exceptions from publishers who are willing to invest massive pre-rendered scenes.

Sony's not going for the same model as the PS2, and I'm not sure brand loyalty in such a high-involvement decision, like a $400+ console, will be effective.

And covering the 'main genres' is a paltry feat, and you yourself say 'The 360, in the end, won't offer that much more.' At the PS3's launch, the 360 will have way more, and Sony's library will catch up only briefly.

Just got the latest xbox360 mag (official) in the post. it says that alot of people were disapointed with sony at the latest E3....


Obiviously a biased magazine..but it was saying that a lot of their friends who work for other mags (i.e.playstation related) are very very disapointed with the ps3 prices and specs. It half of what it promised.

True, developers will get more out of it (ps3) as it progresses, but so will the 360. We are seeing it now, what with the recent Table Tennis game. No? Re-watch the highlights. Look at the sweat on brows, t-shirts. Also look at the fingernails and pale face of Juergen and that's what it can do now.

Most games on the 360 will be on the PS3 and vice versa. But the exclusives of the 360 far outway the playstation.

I was an avid fan of Sony. Bought a ps1 from Japan with ridge racer nearly a year before it was released in the UK. Bought a PS2 on release day here with ridge racer and i was offered £2000 for it because you could not buy one for love nor money. I did'nt. Biggest mistake. I honestly thought the games would get better ( i had a dreamcast that i played more and i thought was better)...they didn't until Rockstar's GTAIII came along. After that gave system to brother and bought the Xbox. Now i saw true gaming.

Sony have had the limelight lately but now the time is M$. Sony had exclusive rights for the GTA series before anyone could use it for theirs. Now? Released the same time..

Oh and i've seen the Gran Turismo HD trailer. Looked just like the Gran T 4 shots.

Well rant over...think what you like, but i think xbox will win.
