I think I really need one of these. Im sick of using batteries out of my TV Remote and things like that. But the thing is I don't really get them? Do I put some rechargeable batteries (that I have to buy myself) into something, then put that in my controller? If so how do I charge them up??
I REALLY REALLY don't understand.
So if someone would be kind enough to exlain everything I would be very grateful, and a prize may be involved. ;)
Cheers. :)

you dont need to buy batteries for it its a battery itself, you just plug it in the back of the controller, and then plug the charge cable in to top of the controller when it needs charging (Y) you just plug the other end of the cable into the 360 usb slot

So I never have to buy any batteries or anything? I just bang this battrey pack where I would normally put my battries and when it is running a bit low I just bang the cable on top?
Sounds simple. :D
Should of got one ages ago. :D

The fact that you didn't really have a clue but at least you were honest to admit it and I can imagine you trying to get the back of the tv remote open halfway through a game because your batteries are running out!

Yeah I get some mad Japanese crappy fake batteries called durabat and stuff. Just fake things and they cut out during a pro evo match.
Energizer rule though but I think I spent to much time on the mic commentating matches.
Sorry I haven't read through all this thread but Thorny I would say get the new Quick Charge kit which you can pre order on play. Play and charge kit's are useless unless you forget to charge your battery up.

Can you not just charge the battry up though while you are playing? :s
I thought that was the idea.

I have a sea of batteries around me but only 10% have any energy left and 0% are unused. Got a new 8 pack last night so sound now.

You can but it takes away the fact that you have a got a wireless controller. I plug my cable in the monring before I go to college and when I come back it's ready for me to use.

Even so. If you're going quick charge, you only get one battery. And it's harder to find just a replacement battery that isn't packaged with anything. Quick charge really needs 2 batteries, so in case your controller dies during a game, you have a way to continue playing. I'd say if you're only going to get one, get the Play Kit. But both wouldn't be a bad idea. Use the Play n Charge for exactly that, playing and charging when you have a few people over, and the Quick Charge for exactly that, charging faster.

25/May/06, 12:26 PM
Well, I can have 1 that I charge up with Play + Charge, then my 2nd controller can just have normally batteries in, so if my 1st dies, my 2nd with normal battries won't. EEASEH! :D

No - not a meat cleaver. It has to be plugged in, then it kind of vibrates, and you just run it down the beef. haha.
Someone must know. Whatever it is, it's the only way im getting into the Play + Charge kit. :D

http://www.xbox.com:80/en-GB/hardware/x/xbox360playchargekit/
Play & Charge Cable enables continuous game play

Battery fuel guage through the Xbox 360 dashboard
Includes Play & Charge Cable and NiMH rechargeable battery pack
about the same from play

yeah but if you turn your 360 off with the Controller charging, it goes into a low power mode, letting out just enough juice to charge the battery.

Please tell me why? I would rather my 360 charge it as thats what was designed to charge it. Sure nothing else it going to really damage it but still would like to know why you feel safer.

03/Jun/06, 07:48 PM
leaving my 360 "on" overnight aint my kinda thing, something might happen short out or something i dunno i just prefer not to
So your PC which prob has at least a 380Watt PSU inside it isn't going to short but your 360 will lol.
Sorry but I just think it's very odd. Everything stays on or in standby mode in my room. Amp, TV, Xbox 360 is normally on, PC is always on. Cause I know nothing bad can happen. The worst that will happen is a short will occur and my house will get tripped.

Oh wow Thornbags Play and Charge kit is bust. It's not like you would get a rechargeable battery kit broken now is it?
I have a feeling Thornbag is going to get a replacement.

My controller still worked without battery. :D
Hahhahaha. So now im not sure weather it's bust or not.
Leave the battery in there. Turn on your 360 and leave it on for a minute then turn it off . (this is with the p&c kit connected)
Leave it for a day, you can play your 360 but basically pretend it's charging. Then the next day see if the battery is charged. It could just be the LED.
Slightly off topic, how long is the play and charge kit cable?

It was to say - You know what I think about Plug & Play kits so I really don't need to comment. Just like you would say "well you know my view on that" if you were in a conversation with anyone.

I think you're going to find that your poor first impression with these forums, the one you left on a number of people, including Tob3z, is going to haunt you for a while. Especially since you seem to just be furthering it. I mean, take a look at "There was a point to making that comment. It was to say - You know what I think about Plug & Play kits so I really don't need to comment." There was a point to making a comment, and that point was there was no need to comment. A little ridiculous, don't you think? Don't wrap that ridiculousness with a Tob3z-bashing. "Sticking your nose in" isn't a very staff-friendly phrase.
As for the Play and Charge kits, this seems to just be a broken LED. Something that could just as easily occur with a AA battery charger. Furthermore, an LED failure was never an argument you made. If we already do know what you think about the kits, we also know that your opinion, before now, had nothing to do with LED failure, or any sort of hardware failure besides battery-death.
