Everything featured in this thread is free. However some things you have to register for but the registration is free too.

Remember people to extract all the zip files then it should work. It should open up an IE window, and send you to the passport login. Then, you sign in, making sure you click the 'save name and password'. It then tells you any impending friends request, who is online/offline, what game they are playing and if they are joinable.

Kaspersky and Ashampoo WinOptimizer 3 both have month-long trial periods. Highly recommended anti-virus and system tweaker, respectively.

You'll also want Auto Copy, it automatically copies any text you highlight (When have you selected text for anything other than copying?):

I like Tab Mix Plus as my tab extension, it has a built in session saver (that means it saves all of your windows and tabs, and you can instantly open all of them back up when you start up Firefox), shows progress bars for the loading of each tab, and the tab labels have red text if they've loaded something you haven't seen:
