i dont like final fantasy games but thats just my taste, i tryed the demo but it too ages to install on the hard drive

You don't need Xbox Live Gold to access PlayOnline Servers.
You should be able to access via Xbox Live Silver.

Well.. It's not really fair to judge it on the FF series. But as an MMO, I seem to remember it being fairly slow-paced, and the age of its graphics are starting to show.
