Here is a message from a reputable website:

"Xbox 360 will be in SHORT SUPPLY on the day of release!
Unfortunately, due to MASSIVE demand for this incredibly popular new gaming system - it's now known there will be supply problems getting the Xbox 360 to all stores on the official day of release.

Here's how to get your Xbox 360...

Firstly, if you try and shop around, you'll notice that all the prices are EXACTLY THE SAME. These prices are fixed by the manufacturer and all retailers have to fall in line.

So, it comes down to which retailer is likely to receive the most stock. Pick the right one and we think you'll have the best chance of receiving your Xbox 360 while others are still frustrated and left waiting!

Our money's on Amazon. This commercial heavy-weight should be able to get what they need to keep their customers happy! Of course, it's no guarantee even they'll be able to meet the level of demand the Xbox 360 has generated! But we think Amazon is the best bet for getting your Xbox 360 as soon as possible.

Even as you read this, the orders are flooding in thick and fast! So don't be left waiting weeks or possibly MONTHS to get your hands on the most advanced gaming system ever. Get your order placed NOW - while you still can!"

If you have not already done so, you can preorder it from http://www.360monster.com/newspost.php?id=0000000056 (which also helps us guys keep the site in tip top condition :)).

If you are too worried that you will not get one for launch, and don't mind paying an extra £60 (either that or wait a couple of months!), then pre-order the Core system and buy the Hard Drive for £60-70 :D

Core Systems are NOT in short supply, so if you want to be extra safe, do that, then you will not have to worry about not getting the console on launch :)

You can always buy a wireless controller later on. Besides, if you had it, you'd be tempted to spend an extra £13 on the play and charge device :p

Once you have the console long enough, you'll eventually have a load of controllers anyway. If you want one badly, spend £30 on getting one. Then you'll have 2 controllers :D

I think Premium comes with Silver doesnt it?

If so, then yeah, Core will come with Silver as well. As long as you have a console and a broadband connection, then you can get silver.

If you already have an Xbox Live account, you can carry it over to the 360 and its basically the Gold package :)

Yep, thats why I bought a 12 month subscription for the old xbox for £20 :) - As with Premium you get a headset to.

I'll wait for a bundle at or after Xmas.

I've preordered mine off www.play.com and they have sent me an email mentioning the shortage of consoles too but I am not worried.

you could always just wait a week till after launch...I bet that the volume of preorders including the one your mummy will be putting in will be exceeding the supply, and therefore, your pre-order would have been in vain seeing as how you could have kept your deposit and just gotten one once the supplies are refurbished...a week later!

Hmmm, I'm going to check out Gamestation, Game, G-Force and CA Games at the weekend and check if I'll be able to guarentee one on launch. I know a lot of places are saying that they can't confirm this yet, but it's worth trying it.

If not, I've heard Amazon are still guarenteeing launch-day delivery, so I might just get it from there.

Are Amazon definetley guarunteeing launch day delivery at the moment?

And I presume they don't debit my account until it is despatched? Not a problem if they do, but it would be a pain in the backside if they charged me for something in October that didnt arrive till (potentially) February

The price is the same everywhere and Im more than happy use the link that youve given here, Im also trying to shop around for another controller and a few games, I presume that the standard price for games is £40-£50 over here.
