will we ever see anything like this on the 360 for full retail games it looks like it will eventally happen but will it happen for new releases.
we have sites like this http://www.direct2drive.com/ for pc games and half life 2 could be downloaded through steam so i was wondering and the 360 is set up nicly if we would see this happen in the future.
and ill sneak another question in here whens street fight 2 out on XBLA

Possibly. It won't happen before the 360 has larger hard drives available, however. Starting off with just 12-13 gigs out of the box, then adding full retail copies for download doesn't seem reasonable.

i think a 200gb hard drive would do you could fit 40 5 gig games on their

You wouldn't need that much. 60-100 would be fine, and less expensive. The average attach rate for a console is nowhere near 40.

i would only keep the games id be playing at the time on their much like i do with my pc. it could also stop publishers taking a money away fro developers and hopfullty it will kill ea games off.
You can now download DVD's so why not games?

But what makes you think it would kill of EA games, and where did you get the idea that publishers take money from devs?

what i ment it would give smaller comapnies the chance to make more money and the ea comment is bias because in my opinion release a lot of crap games

I'm not sure about that. If we're talking about games that are gigs and gigs and would be considered full retail games at this point in the Xbox, I don't think just getting rid of discs would improve that. OTOH, XBLA has been and will continue to be great for smaller companies.

The demo did. I'm not sure how much will have to be installed on the hard drives once the disc ships. And I'm 95% sure there will be a disc.

One of the computer hardware sites I visit has 300gig Sata Hardrives just now for just under £70. If you could put that in the 360 it would be practical to be able to download games.

^ but thats not a laptop drive, thats a standard 3.5" drive wouldnt fit on the 360 without looking akward, now if they would have started by putting 3.5 drives in it like they shouldve done, the HDDs would be sooooo cheap and their probably wouldnt have even been a core version

The Core version wasn't designed with the US, UK, and Japan in mind. No matter what HDD they use, there still would be a Core. The 3.5 is bigger and uses more power, and people are already a little uneasy about the 360's size and especially its power brick.
If MS does move into a more download based model for full retail games, then I suspect we will find ourselves near 80 gig hard drives, (and maybe, maybe an option for an even higher capacity one, like 120 or 160) and MS will take a slight loss on the accessory in order to see that more people buy it.

It could happen. Sony hinted at it and I am sure Microsoft would follow.
The reason the 360 doesnt have a HD-DVD is because Bill Gates himself said Digital Software,he believes will become more popular in the future.

what about them letting us use our own drives

Mmmmm. Not quite. He said that he believes this will be the last physical format war, because after this, everything will move to direct download. The reason why the 360 doesn't have an internal HD-DVD is because they had enough supply troubles with their RAM chips, and they wanted to keep costs low so the Core system could do well in places like Eastern Europe, the Mid East, and India.

Sort of goes against the whole console mentality. A console is made to be a closed-box. That is, everything made for it works nicely with each other, developers know what people have, etc, etc. Not only would Microsoft not want to deal with the increase of customer service calls if they let use plug in any old hard drive, they also don't want to open any more doors to modding and piracy.
