Rather than re-invent the wheel.

HERE (http://xbcd360guide.50webs.com/guide.html) is a nice tutorial with file links and pictures.

Comes in handy for all your PC games, especially running old Arcade Roms using MAME.

So you just picked up your new Xbox 360 Controller at your local gaming store. To your surprise when you get home and plug the Xbox controller in you find the drivers suck.
Not really.

Not had any issues with the original drivers yet.

That guy is really showing off about his amazing Xbox 360 drivers but it looks as though he's just ripped someone elses Xbox drivers...the setup screen still has the buttons labelled as 'BL' & 'WH' not 'LB' & 'RB'. :s

Thanks for the Heads up on this article. I hear some of you saying the original driver worked fine can you elaberate where you got those? The XBOX360 controller from the console does not work right out the box. I htink they made a PC and a COnsole version I would like to use my 360 console controller on the PC also would be cool to use the wireless one if possible.

The Controllers on sale for 360 and PC are the same...only difference is the PC controller (in red packaging) has the drivers supplied with it.

I got my drivers from the MS website.

I wish you could use the pad on the PC with the play and charge kit or even some other sort of cabel.
I realy don't have any use for a wired controller.

Well, there are plenty of cheap USB gamepads. None of 'em feel as good as the shining white knight of the 360, but it'll cost you less than a wired Xbox controller you'd only use for the PC.

That one's not wireless, chief. And according to someone from MadCatz, Microsoft will be the only one allowed to make an approved wireless controller.
