has anyone played black on the 360 is it 720p and widescreen and does it work on the vga cable, some games dont work on vga cable because they are made to run on pal tvs at 50htz but the ga cable only does 60htz, i was just wondering before i get it if anyoen has tryed it yet and how good it runs how well it plays on the controller and if im going to have to put up with black bars left and right as i do if i want to play splinter cell and halo 1.

saying as ive started this lets make this thread in to a bigger better thing post up your experiances with backwards conpatible games what we should aviod and what works well heres a list of mine.

dont work with vga cable
halo*, splintercell*, splintercell 2*,prince of persia the sands of time*, ninja gaiden, forza, max payne 2, rainbow six 3, ghost recon 2 summit strike.

*= DONT WORK IN WIDESCREEN

Halo 2 and Grand theft auto san andreas work on my vga cable and work in widescreen.

ill look in to all my games and tell you how well they run this will be usefull for people who want to buy games to play on their 360 so once we got a good list we can make a master list or somthing like that.

EDIT - my experiance is with pal games on a pal 360 the 50htz problem will not be a problem with USA xboxs i dont think only PAL

Ohhhhh. That's why some games don't work. I forget you guys do everything different over there, like 50hz.

Most TV's are 60 Hz compatible thought Blaze Lord. It's more of a problem running PAL over your side of the pond as your TV's don't tend to support 50 Hz (unless they're expensive!).

I would say even less media devices like DVD players use PAL over here, so the issue doesn't often come up.

they idea of this thread was to also have mini reviews of BC games just so we know how well they run and what they run like, or should i start a new one off for that i think i should.

Yeah, there's never really any need for you guys to have TV's supporting 50Hz. We've got a house in Florida and we specifically got a 50Hz supported Plasma so that we could watch PAL DVD's through a PAL player.

OK i've added to the thread posted above. Black works find with VGA, setting to Normal or Widescreen works fine, though both output the same display so I guess thats Normal only. Will try 720p in a bit...

Update: OK as I thought, im not sure if this is common but I just thought the 360 upscales anything to 720p or whatever settings you do so it will support and i've just ran the game at 720p using the VGA cable set to widescreen though it shows the game with black boarders down the left and right side of the screen making it 4:3 format.

Hope that helps ya
